Thianitara is a spider genus of the Salticidae family (jumping spiders). Its only species, T. spectrum, is only found on Sumatra. However, there are undescribed species that belong to this genus in Malaysia and Sabah[1].
The male of T. spectrum is close to the genus Thiania[1].

The genus name is a combination of the salticid genera Thiania and Tara.
