It passed 3:2 for, but Frazydeel's vote was conditional, and condition is not met. As to standardizing the approach to disambiguation, please do a thorough study of the Wikipedia:Disambiguation guideline and Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages) before building tools to help implement those guidelines. I'm not happy with the use of this template in its current form, but it could develop. This template currently reads like this:

The default for parameter 2 makes no sense. In the main space it is always a circular link. I believe it should read like this:

[edit] Suggestion that {{this}} becomes a redirect to {{about}}

I propose that {{this}} becomes a redirect to {{about}}, which is a simpler name of {{otheruses4}}. I don't see that this would do any harm, and I think it would help with reducing clutter and reducing maintenance.
