Talk:Third Hungarian Republic

This information's source can't be cited. It's in my mind. I can count until 3 (2*1.5, három, three, and so on). And I watch television, too. Only the members of the Socialist Party (MSZP) and Liberals (SZDSZ) use this (they're ruling now), especially Gyurcsány (how often I heard a Harmadik Magyar Köztársaságot meg kell reformálni, meaning 'It is needed to reform the Third Hungarian Republic.'). Hungarians simply say 'Magyarország', which means 'Hungarian country'.
And the three republics? See History of Hungary.
(Note: it is not a historical, political article, it's only the explanation of a term.) Cserlajos 14:39, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
actually it would have been good if Gyurcsány's republic would have been as short-lived as the first two... – Alensha talk 00:30, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
better his Republic than the historical alternatives... so mind what you say, mate :-) 84.1.190.103 21:22, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Republic in 1848-49?
I disbelieve the claim in the article about a Republic proclaimed in 1848-49. A qualified teacher of Hungarian History has told me explicitly otherwise. As far as I (and she) knows, the Habsburg House was dethroned, but the monarchy wasn't abolished (although that was what the majority ultimately sought); Kossuth filled in the head of state position as regent. I think I'll remove the comment, put it back and my apologies if I should be mistaken. 84.1.190.103 21:22, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
