[edit] Thanks for the help
Thanks for that, gentle nudges in the right direction will mean that all my time wasted... I mean usefully spent editing articles gets us all going in the right direction. I was tagging all those articles in the hope that someone or somebot would come along and migrate them to the new format, there is a list of that category at the WP Airports page as well as a running count. I had no idea that you could search for it another way. IYO would it be useful to modify all the WP Airport tags in the talk pages of articles that do not have infoboxes to add them of the list of articles that need infoboxes added?? Then I could work through these as I get the time/inclination. Let me know what you think. I've not seen the use of the mapit template on any other airport except PER. I've posted in WP Airports for clarification as there was a previous post that referred to a standard of only having it in the infobox for clarity and neatness. I notice that the coordinates that of the two lines (the infobox line and the mapit line) refer to different coordinates? It should refer to the ARP (Aerodrome Reference Point) this is located in the airports entry under the AIP ERSA document.MEBpilot (talk) 09:36, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Thuringowacityrep
Hi Winchester, I just wanted to flag that I know your frustration in this debate, if you remember my previous dispute with TCR you will know that I have similar views, however I have to object to your flagging of health and school campuses as non-notable just because TCR or others have exhibited ownership issues over the articles and have put promotional language into them. If there is material in the articles which is bias or not notable to the subject matter than remove it. But the articles themselves (particularly the highschool ones) are just as notable as all the other high schools.
On the other hand I do support you on the suburbs article being non-notable, the only reason I can see for it being created was the provide a Thuringowa version of suburbs of Townsville article that I created.
My solution to this dispute was to just wait until after amalgamation and then sort out the mess, but if you're really set on taking this issue all the way at this point in time my suggestion would be 1. remove all content which obviously breaches policy and quickly refer to an admin if the removal is disputed; 2. every time Thuringowa is mentioned in all these articles for no reason, either replace it with the name of the suburb it is in or just add to it (to be amalgamated into Townsville in March 2008), other than doing something like that you will be heading for more conflict with TCR than it is worth and I should know. Cheers, WikiTownsvillian 02:38, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- Well now you can all go FUCK yourself's, i have had it with the bullshit that goes on here because i have a name the has Thuringowa in it and i take pride in the city i live in, your all so keen in getting the Thuringowa name off the pages well before Thuringowa city is merged with that hole called Townsville....i can only hope that the page about Thuringowa will stay on, so that the 100+ years of history will stay alive. And you Thewinchester...what a joke ...going in and flagging the pages that i put some work into or made to try and get back at me....what where you tring to do hey??? make me mad...it didn't work...and just goes to show what sort of person you really are.
- So like i have said before, most of the people on here are one sided, two faced pricks and to this day have never met poeple like you (you know who you are), Thanks to the few of you that understand what i did and can see that i cared about having FACT in the pages and not misleading info, plus at no time have i EVER CLAIMED TO OWN A PAGE....wake up dickheads....good luck and get stuffed. - Wow... Um, adding Thuringowa to articles that are only peripherally related, at the exclusion of Townsville (which is the regional city of which Thuringowa represents the outer suburbs, for better or worse), is a point of view which is hard to justify - especially as the government report has made abundantly clear the reasons why the Commissioners felt they should be merged. I have always been of the opinion that arbitrary LGA boundaries do not make a city, and many cross dozens of them, others (eg Bunbury, Newcastle, Geraldton until amalgamation, Geelong until amalgamation etc) cross just a few, but people outside those boundaries while living under different local laws in a different rateable area are still part of the regional city, most of them work in it, etc. Also, as I've said many times, we're writing for a national or international audience, and the Lake Macquarie-Newcastle and Thuringowa-Townsville conflicts and the former's assertion of independence in each case is confusing and puzzling to readers.

- As WT said, I was willing to compromise now and stick around for three months and sort out the mess then, although fix any really blatant stuff. For example, the reason I changed the final section of the City of Thuringowa article which seems to have inadvertently triggered this situation off, was that stuff had been randomly tacked onto it which had nothing to do with the report or its recommendations - there may have been a place for it somewhere else in the article, but connecting it with the report's conclusions when the commissioners hadn't was laden with all sorts of issues. I'm hoping this ends up being a storm in a teacup we can all get over and, being a non-local contributor, I'm thrilled for anyone who is more local than I am to get involved, as long as they can do so in an appropriate manner with a spirit of cooperation and compromise. [edit] Mystery Shopper
Hello, I noticed that you stated on the "Mystery Shopping" talk page that you are an accomplished mystery shopper. I have a great interest in becoming a mystery shopper, particularly for restaurants in my area. But every web site I come across wants me to pay them something. That screams "SCAM" to me. Can you please e-mail me with some info about where I might start? Thanks very much! --Schmendrick (talk) 13:44, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
