[edit] Great
Ok. Now that we have the page over here lets discuss how we can create it without it getting deleted quickly. Pleas take a minute and read over WP:BIO. This will be the main hurtle we have to get over. The first bullet under at teh top under This Page in a Nutshell sums it up. We will need sources and lots of them. Any book review, interview, newspaper article on you will be a huge help.GtstrickyTalk or C 14:41, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Hello Again. I have abook review on: Life Gates by Mrs. Barbara Ardinger, Phd, Author which I can copy and reproduce here. I also have a review on Pearl and the French Legionnaire, given by Austin Macauley Publishers, I can add. What else? In google there are at least some twenty websites related to my books Life Gates and The Hand of Divine Justice, did you see them?I also have a full page article in a news paper talking about me and my ex-husband the artist Eitan Dvir, photos with Mr. Simon Peres, our president, with Mr. Netanyahu??? Therese Dvir (talk) 16:02, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
So the trick to this is the sources need to be verified. So we need external links to the reviews if you have them. The newspaper article would be great. We need the name of the article, date and the paper and we can try to hunt it down. The google hits are ok but most are just info on the books and do not contribute to your notability. Here are the guidelines on what make books notabile WP:BK. If any of your books meet those criteria it would help also. GtstrickyTalk or C 20:23, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- also... what is your home nationality (if that makes sense)? I put Canadian but I thought you would use something eles. GtstrickyTalk or C 20:26, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Hello and good morning, Mrs. Ardinger has a website under Barbara Ardinger and this critique was issued prior to publishing the book Life Gates. You can verify that by contacting her. I was born in Morocco as I specified it on top of the page and thus I am a Moroccan born, then I emigrated to Israel and became Israeli. When I married to Eitan Dvir the artist, we moved to Canada and became Canadian as well. The newspaper : The Canadian Jewish News, Thursday, April 19, 1984, speaks about my influence on the artist's life and his artistic trend. The title is :Wife's request to paint results in Koffler show. And you are right about Google. The sites there are mostly for the sale of the books. However, the fact that my books were purchased by Universites proves the importance of their informative contents and their contribution to the educational system. There was also a TV interview at Canada Channel 4 and a live report of the Koffler show by French Canadian CBS news. In both I was interviewed. I have the video cassettes. I also have some photos with Mrs Koffler (The owner of the Koffler center of Arts) who flew specially from Florida to Hamilton Canada, to take part of the opening of the show. It was a big event then with the Roman Catholic Board of Education, North York representative and Hamilton representative. There were many important figures there. Later on, there was a ceremony at Queen's Park when Eitan's two paintings were offered to Canada. In fact during my ex-husband artisitic life, you may say: Cherchez la femme. I was behind everything that happened to him, even behind the painting given to the Israeli Parliement in Jerusalem in 1989. Somehow it seemed to me that all my strengths were conveyed to his artistic career. It ended only on the beginning of the year 2000 when I decided to concentrate more on my own life than on his, and since his activities dimmed. Of course, the impact of my new attitude created a gap between him and me, and with the release of Life Gates, we separated. He lives now in Canada and I am in Israel. Our relationships are yet very friendly and we managed despite our divorce to remain very much attentive to each other's needs and progress. In fact my life as a writer began only after I divorced. I discovered the "myself" which I intently ignored decades ago and through my books I could finally express what was burried in my for so long. I started to observe people, to listen to them, to understand them and mostly, I retrieved my past, my roots, the funny and sorrowful events springled all over the way.Therese Dvir (talk) 05:42, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
- Therese - I am having trouble meeting the guidelines which state....
[edit] Creative professionals
Scientists, academics, economists, professors, authors, editors, journalists, filmmakers, photographers, artists, architects, engineers, and other creative professionals:
- The person is regarded as an important figure or is widely cited by their peers or successors.
- The person is known for originating a significant new concept, theory or technique.
- The person has created, or played a major role in co-creating, a significant or well-known work, or collective body of work, which has been the subject of an independent book or feature-length film, or of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews.
- The person's work either (a) has become a significant monument, (b) has been a substantial part of a significant exhibition, (c) has won significant critical attention, or (d) is represented within the permanent collections of several notable galleries, museums or internationally significant libraries.
The wording or of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews is how we can get in the easiest but I struggle finding the reviews. I will work on this more tomorow (weekends are my down time). GtstrickyTalk or C 00:09, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Hello David
David I understand what is standing in front of you. There are several points that can be reported about me: The tremendous achievements in Eitan's career (I have plenty of reports and critics on him in Hebrew from Israel and from Israeli reporters abroad) one from a Canadian reporters and the fact that I could open to him the gates of history by getting 3 of his works, two in Queen's Park and one in the Israeli parliament. About my writing, of course it isn't done in an academic manner, but the majority depicts widely the Jewish communities of Morocco, their life style, their origins, which as you can notice are reported in Barbara's critique. (Through her eyes, glimpses ...) My contribution to the Jews and to the Jews of Morocco in particular, to their next generations who would be able through my books to be better acquainted on the life of their ancestors, under an Arab regime, under the French protectorat, during world war II etc... If this is of any value... If you want mew to e-mail you the copy of the reportages, tell me how to do it. My e-mail is doratheo277@yahoo.com
Wishing you a great day David.Therese Dvir (talk) 05:02, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Well...
Therese sorry it took me some time to get back to you. I was getting some second opinions on your article. Unfortunately however the consensus has been that the article will not meet the requirements. There just is not enough published information on you available to reference. This is not a reflection of you or your body of work. Over time this might change and please contact me if it does. If your publisher can get some outside reviews of your work done that would be a great help. Thanks for sticking with the process and I do wish it was a better result.
