[edit] Antonio López de Santa Anna
He had eleven terms as president, but the infobox has only allowed to show ten on the article. Any way to fix this? Therequiembellishere (talk) 04:06, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Afd
I am simply trying to make the process entirely transparent. In any case, I used Twinkle to run the AfD, which automatically notifies the creator - that is hardly influencing a vote, since I'm going to assume the creator would want the article kept. Please keep calm. David Fuchs (talk) 23:28, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- I'm trying to, but saying that I tried to influence the vote when all I did was notify the most prominent editors is a lie. Therequiembellishere (talk) 23:30, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
-
- First off, I never insinuated that you were trying to influence the vote, but seriously man, think for a second. Do you really believe that A) the most frequent editors are likely to support deletion, and B) that they would miss the big honkin' afd template? David Fuchs (talk) 23:35, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

Hello wikifriend! Per your request I archived your talkpage to the best of my ability. If you ever need help again, feel free to ask. I hope you will return the favor and contribute to the Heroes peer review section...lol...I know you dont have time, but if you get an extra five minutes during the week, please make your way over. You have made some excellent contributions to the overall Heroes wikiproject and your review is valueable. Hope to see you on the boards! lol Heroes Peer Review--Chrisisinchrist (talk) 04:54, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

- no problem. I just learned how to archive talkpages yesterday and I already got the hang of it. There is a wikitag or a notice for you to put on the top of your archived talk page that tells users that the discussion on this page is archived and then links to your current talkpage. i am not sure how to add this tag, but you might find some useful info at Help:Archiving a talk page--Chrisisinchrist (talk) 04:59, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Winston Churchill
The importance of Woodstock is that it was the 'family borough' Lord Randolph had been member and from 1832 (when the seat was reconstituted after the Reform Act) till 1876 it was held by either a member of the Churchill family or their nominee. I propose to revert this (perhaps with a note to show its importance) but will await your commentBacknumber1662 (talk) 05:58, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- I wasn't aware of any significance to the others, if it is absolutely imperative, then sure. However, I feel that a simple place and country should do because if you want to get more specific the smaller division almost always shows the larger division it is part of. Therequiembellishere (talk) 15:25, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Marini
Shouldn't saying that he is the Prime Minister-designate be alright? I've hidden the section on the infobox and the succession box until I get an answer. Please respond in three days or I'll un-hide it. Therequiembellishere (talk) 23:39, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- I would say no, because it's possible that he may never even become PM (that is, if he loses the vote of confidence in Parliament required for him to take office). --Tsk070 (talk) 03:41, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] president/prime minister
Serbia unlike Russia for an example has no connection between the president and the prime minister so it is a mistake to add that information into infobox. It is OK in a pure presidential system where President appoints the PM but it makes no sense in here. --Avala (talk) 18:03, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Changes to "Overview of results"
Don't get too aggressive in altering Results of the 2008 Democratic Party presidential primaries#Overview of results; it's likely your work will be reverted. A lot of people have been maintaining that table. I removed flags from section headers only after opening a discussion. See Talk:Results of the 2008 Democratic Party presidential primaries#Section layout. Wdfarmer (talk) 08:58, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Shimon Peres
Why the revert on the Shimon Peres article? Flymeoutofhere (talk) 13:22, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- See Chen-shui bian and Bruce Golding's talks for the two most drawn arguments as of late I've had. Boris Tadic had a problem exactly like this and Avala (I believe that's it) reneged after ignoring my offer to discuss it for quite some time and found that it has become the standard not to show the person's order. Therequiembellishere (talk) 20:11, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

- As an American, I can say that one of the reasons I am an Anglophile is due to the United States and its stubbornness to use spellings, punctuations, grammar and vocabulary improperly and its peoples' arrogance to think that because they are big, they can have their own way, despite the rest. Canada and Australia also have this problem. Therequiembellishere (talk) 20:25, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your edits to the presidents
- Ordinal numbers are given as words using the same rules as for cardinal numbers. The exception is ordinals for centuries, which are always expressed in figures (the 5th century CE; 19th-century painting). The ordinal suffix (e.g., th) is not superscripted (23rd and 496th, not 23rd and 496th).

Hello! you edited pages of Prime Ministers of Pakistan including Malik Meraj Khalid, Muhammad Mian Soomro ans some others, so I want to ask that do the term numbers written in infobox violates WP:MOS. Thanks! --SMS Talk 05:49, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
- Bruce Golding and Chen shui-bian's talk pages answer this the best. Therequiembellishere (talk) 20:46, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Pokemon titles?
I made some changes to the Pokemon anime films page to reflect the actual American DVD titles. I think the titles you're showing are the titles for the main feature included in the DVD. This doesn't really help anyone FIND the movies though! Why not use the DVD titles? How about at least including a separate column with the DVD titles? This would allow anyone to go to Amazon, Netflix, etc, and FIND these movies. Thanks, hypert —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hypert (talk • contribs) 04:26, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Raul Castro
Hello There (no pun intended). Raul Castro assumed office on February 24, 2008 (i.e. assumed Presidency). He did not assume office in 2006, he only assumed the powers & duties of the office in an 'Acting' capacity. Simply put (and no offense), your edit version is 'too' confusing & misleading. GoodDay (talk) 16:53, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Well I am not as easily put off by constant reversions as some others. The box is titled "President of Cuba". On what date did Raul Castro become President of Cuba? On 24 February 2008. This seems very elementary to me. The fact that he was acting president from September 2006 should be noted, and it is noted. But he did not become President then. Fidel Castro was President then, and remained so until 24 February 2008. If you persist in reverting to the erroneous date I will take whatever steps are open to me to have you desist. Intelligent Mr Toad (talk) 11:20, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry Therequiembellishere. The 'July 31, 2006' dates is mis-leading & confusing. I'm in agreement with Intel Mr Toad. PS- Vladimir Putin should be fixed aswell. GoodDay (talk) 15:53, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- PS- I've fixed up the Putin page, to correctly show he took office as Russian President on May 7, 2000. GoodDay (talk) 16:01, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
How many edits I've made is immaterial. (Actually I've made many thousands of edits since 2003, under other names.) What is material is that you persist in reverting to a version of this article which is clearly false (stating that Raul Castro became President of Cuba in 2006), and have refused to respond to the efforts made above by me and GoodDay to discuss this matter with you. I will not revert you again today, since I don't wish to be blocked under the 3R rule, but I will revert you tomorrow if no-one else does so first. In the meantime I am refering your behaviour to an administrator. Intelligent Mr Toad (talk) 05:12, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. [edit] Rictusempra
Hi. You undid my change as original research. Georges lists ringor as "to tease" for Terence, Horace and Seneca. So I don't really see why that is original research. Also I don't understand what you mean with "not in the spell". Of course, the present stem is "not in the spell". --Seegurke (talk) 17:44, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- For you to use a term, it should be related to the word. Hopefully, we can find a verifiable source fore its root, which we have. To being a word that fits well, but isn't related is less preferable. Also, all new topics go at the bottom of the page. Therequiembellishere (talk) 21:53, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

- I'm not following you, what d'you mean? Therequiembellishere (talk) 20:18, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
-
- I have seen you removing the order of Prime Minister of Pakistan from the infoboxes of many articles of PMs more than once, but someone again added these order. So, I was suggesting if you add a hidden comment like this in the infoboxes <!-- PLZ! DON'T ADD ORDER OF PRIME MINISTER SHIP, IT VIOLATES WP:MOS --> or something like that. --SMS Talk 20:24, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
-
-
- Ah, I see. I did that with Yousaf Raza Gillani, but forgot about WP:MOS! I'll add it to him and Musharraf right away. I contacted the person who has continually added it as well. Therequiembellishere (talk) 20:26, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
-
As in Amadou Toumani Touré, you inserted !-- Please do not add his order, it is against WP:MOS, unused and clutter --. This may be reasonable (I could easily be convinced), but
- There is no mention of this in WP:MOS,
- Template:Infobox Officeholder/example specifically instructs people to include this information.
Please check this out, and a see if
- there is a concensus for what you're instructing people to do
- there is some policy which, unlike WP:MOS, you can direct people to which explains the problem.
all the best, T L Miles (talk) 01:15, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- Well, SRS is the person that told me it didn't follow MOS, I guess I should have looked myself. We never got to a consensus, but it is, for the most part, the standard. Therequiembellishere (talk) 01:45, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

It's gone a tad beyond a content dispute on the talk page and my user pages, but how do I warn it/him/her/them sufficiently? Therequiembellishere (talk) 05:01, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm, well, the reverting of their edit may have irritated them to the extent that they vandalised your user pages, I've had it happen to me as well. I wouldn't label their edit to the article as vandalism, however the edits to your userspace were. You can warn users by using these templates, but I woulnd't recommend you mark their article edits as vandalism, unless they become clearly vandalistic. I've warned each user, and if it continues, re-report. I'd suggest maybe post on WP:ANI. Steve Crossin (talk to me) 05:05, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Look at McAleese's history now. Therequiembellishere (talk) 20:19, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- I wouldn't have bothered adding it myself, but I don't really object to the order number for the Presidents; the office has not changed title, and we don't have the problem of non-consecutive terms which makes the numbers such a bad idea with Taoisigh. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 20:55, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
-
- Thank you, BHG, I'm glad you agree with me for once! This is nothing like the President of the Executice Council/Taoiseach debate, it was a completely new office. Btw, *I* didn't add the order no to the Presidents of Ireland infoboxes but since De Valera through Robinson have them, McAleese's infobox should be consistent with the other articles in the series. You know it makes sense!

- On a related note, this article List of Taoisigh by important facts should really mention W. T. Cosgrave, at least in passing. Snappy56 (talk) 03:26, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] no adoption
I read the Bertie Ahern talk page and I think you have double standards on Wiki. Also, you spent all your time denying Kosovo's rightly earned place on the first list on the List of Rcognized State Leaders, then you did a complete U-turn (very un-Thatcherite!) and added Kosovo to the list. Please amend your ways or else I will stop being your adoptee and find someone less militant. Georgereev118118 (talk) 14:01, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
P.S. Please reply to my post, unlike you did when I was shocked about my user page being nominated for deletion...Georgereev118118 (talk) 14:03, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- No, I specifically said that once it had sufficient recognition, it would be added. I didn't respond because it didn't show anything and thought your computer had an error. If you've actually read the Ahearn page, you'll see exactly why the Canadian, Australian and American pages are the way they are: because the majority of them are stubborn and that's the simple truth. If I could constantly take the orders away I would but I'd get blocked because of that. Therequiembellishere (talk) 17:14, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] UK Deputy PM
You seem to be one of the most knowledgeable people on the UK's government, so I think I'll go to you! Nobody has responded on Brown's page on who his deputy is. I've narrowed it to Harriet Harman because of the deputy position in Commons, Alister Darling because (from my point of view) he seems to be the next most powerful minister and Jack Straw because of his new, prestigious positions and how most of us thought he was actually given the Deputy PM and First Secretary of State position. Therequiembellishere (talk) 18:14, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- There is currently no Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom - there's no constitutional requirement for one. Harriet Harman is the Deputy Leader of the Labour Party and would become Acting Leader if anything were to happen to Gordon Brown. Technically it would be up to the Queen as to who would become PM, but she'd probably call for Harman. Hope this answers your question. --Philip Stevens (talk) 19:55, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
-
- Do you think it'd be alright if I put her up in the deputy section of his infobox? Therequiembellishere (talk) 20:33, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
-
-
- Sorry to interrupt, but we could not put anyone in the deputy section — as Mr Stevens noted, there are reasons for Harman to be named as such, but equally, as you said, Darling is the Second Lord and Chancellor is without exception the second most powerful minister (even above the DPM when there is one)... It's just too nuanced to be expressed as "deputy is X" † DBD 20:48, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
-
-
-
- Well what if I put her in as deputy ad interim? That is effectively what she is. And if a DPM is ever chosen, would it be appropriate to place them there at all then? Tehy don't really have power and they don't necessarily take control either, right? Therequiembellishere (talk) 23:58, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

- Ah, yes. That would be one of the many IPs of the elusive person who you, I and others have continued to revert on Bertie Ahern's page. I've undone the most recent and I guess that'll put the page back on watch. This isn't the first time he or she has responded in this manner. Therequiembellishere (talk) 03:35, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Abbas party
You're claiming Abbas is a member of VIVA-RNDP without citation. You must have a citation if you want to add that, and I find it unlikely that Deby would name a PM from that party when he just fired the party's leader from that same job. Everyking (talk) 03:24, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 11th Taoiseach
I notice you edited out my insertion of the sequence number of Brian Cowen as 11th Taoiseach. Mr. Cowen is the 11th Taoiseach. While the number is never used in referring to the office holder it does indicate the number of office holders. The number is used in the articles referring to pervious holders of the office. I appreciate that you are only trying to be correct. I feel however that in the spirit of being an encyclopedia it is ipmortant to insert the number. For example most of the world knows that George Bush is the 43rd President of the United States in the same spirit a reader should know that Brian Cowen is the 11th Taoiseach of Ireland. Just a point please understand I'm not trying to be picky or narky! Rigger30 (talk) 19:24, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- It's all right! I've been a bit testy lately. Please see the talk page of Bertie Ahern. Therequiembellishere (talk) 19:34, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
-
- Hi again,
- I looked at the discussion on Bertie Ahern and I have to suggest that in general discussion it might be better to acknowledge that Mr. Cowen is the 12th Head of Government but to list him in the infobox as the 11th Taoiseach as he is the 11th person to hold the title. All the articles on previous Taoisigh list their number. Also to follow the line of argument logically Mary Mc Aleese would not be the 8th President of Ireland because there were a number of Governors General during the time of Saorstát Éireann. Just a point! Rigger30 (talk) 18:09, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] removing titles in EIIR and Beatrix
Hi.. not sure why you're removing titles of issue for EIIR and Beatrix, but it doesn't seem appropriate. Can you provide a reason for doing so? PrinceOfCanada (talk) 04:01, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- My rationale is that they're looking for the person's name, not tile. With all the titles in, it tends to crowd the infobox, too. Therequiembellishere (talk) 04:09, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
-
- Interesting rationale, but still.. they do have the titles, and since having the name + title still includes the name, I don't think it makes sense. I'll be keeping the titles in. PrinceOfCanada (talk) 04:25, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- And we're at 3RR. Please provide a verifiable reason for making the change. PrinceOfCanada (talk) 04:28, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Infoboxes
You've got to be more careful about what you put in infoboxes. You had Lansana Kouyaté as a member of the ruling party! Do you put those kinds of things just as placeholders? If you don't know a person's political party (Kouyaté isn't a member of one), please, just leave it blank. Everyking (talk) 08:33, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] EII succession boxes
I'm confused about the dates in the succession box issue. I've seen other pages with succession boxes that include full dates. I've also seen articles where some boxes have full dates and some have just years (e.g., Tony Blair). What's wrong with doing it on EII's page? -Rrius (talk) 12:01, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- They really shouldn't be, that's not how they're set up and the majority of what I see don't have full dates. Therequiembellishere (talk) 12:05, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
-
-
- I'll say MOS, but I'm not sure. They put a lot of information in such a small place that should be in specific articles instead. There's a reason that the section is "years". Therequiembellishere (talk) 12:11, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Union of South American Nations
Why was it removed? The oldest on the then list was the headline, "The International Court of Justice awards Pedra Branca to Singapore and Middle Rocks to Malaysia, ending a 29-year territorial dispute between the two countries," and after that, "Dima Bilan wins the Eurovision Song Contest for Russia with "Believe"." The USAN was certainly more important than the two as well. Could you put it back up? Therequiembellishere (talk) 14:54, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- It was the oldest. Can you see here the date "May 23" for the entry? --BorgQueen (talk) 15:00, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
