[edit] Neil Downing
I have placed a tag on the article Neil Downing, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. I did this because the article seems to be a biographical account about a person but it does not indicate how or why that person is notable. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag, under any circumstances. If you can indicate why Neil Downing is really notable, I advise you to edit the article promptly, and also put a note on Talk:Neil Downing. Any admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. You might also want to read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. --Dvyost 19:56, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Welcome!
Hi, Neil Downing, and welcome to Wikipedia! Sorry I had to "speedy" your first contribution, but when you look over our guidelines (below) I think you'll see why. I also reverted your test over at Nevile Gardiner--remember that while Wikipedia is fun to play around with, it's important to add only meaningful content to articles.
There's still lots to be written here, though, so I hope you like the place and decide to stay! Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The Five Pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Editing, policy, conduct, and structure tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
- If you're ready for the complete list of Wikipedia documentation, there's also Wikipedia:Topical index.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page (below).
Happy editing, and have a good time! If there's ever anything I can help with (or if you just want to say hey) feel free to swing by my talk page! --Dvyost 20:00, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Vandalism
I've reverted your vandalism to my User Page. Don't do it again--vandalism is a fast road to having your account revoked. There's lots of good outlets around here for editing. Why not take advantage of them? Best, --Dvyost 20:10, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Please stop
Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Friday (talk) 20:11, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --fvw* 20:17, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Blocked
You have been temporarily blocked from editing for vandalism of Wikipedia. If you wish to make useful contributions, you may come back after the block expires. --fvw* 20:21, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
