From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Sorry for this to be the first order of business so to speak, but you recently added a number of images as well as text cut and paste from various websites on Maronite saints. You assert that the copyright holder permits their use for any purpose, at least on the images. I'm afraid I can find no indication on the websites in question that this is in fact the case. Could you possibly indicate where we might verify it? Thanks.

It would be advisable for you to rewrite this text anyway. Wikipedia has a strong policy that artcles should be written using a neutral point of view. No matter how much we might respect the saints we write about here, we need therefore to adopt a dispassionate, reporter-like, encyclopedic tone when editing their articles. I realize this might be difficult when it comes to saints we might feel a particular veneration for and I have trouble with it myself, but if we don't do it ourselves then someone else is likely to come along and do it for us. [edit] Your userpage was briefly delisted by a rogue admin

' This user believes that only articles need reflect a NPOV, and that displaying political, religious, or other beliefs using userboxes and user categories should not be banned.

You have a userbox Template:User UN which links your userpage to United Nations Wikipedians. There is currently a movement to ban userboxes from Wikipedia which are shared and which create List of Wikipedians. Certain admins have taken it upon themselves to preemptively sabotage and/or delete such categories and template. Here is the incident report which reported damage to yours, in which hundreds of userpages were delinked from categories without the users' knowledge. They have been stopped, barely, and the damage reverted— for now.

There is a Wikipedia:Userbox policy poll, which if passed, will make required by policy the damage done to categories and templates such as User UN/United Nations Wikipedians. If you do not want this to happen, I urge you to vote Oppose. in the poll. Support is currently running at about 66%, and your vote could make the difference. It is said to require 75%-80% to be deemed reflective of consensus.

Thank you,

[edit] Why

I have been recently been blocked unfairly. The reason: persistant vandalism. This has however not occured, i do not understand why i have been unfairly blocked. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia built on facts which i have only been attempting to enhance and enlarge, nothing else.

" Your user name or IP address has been blocked from editing. You were blocked by Nlu for the following reason (see our blocking policy): Persistent vandalism, may be shared IP, but no previous collateral damage Your IP address is 82.198.250.80.

"
You personally have not been blocked, the section entitled "Innocent?" in the block message explains this situation. --pgk(talk) 21:36, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] hello

I picked a random person I knew I would disagree with morally (and therefore religiously) and politically`to smile at.

Ok, now that that's out of the way, time for the tough part (which I believe I am morally obligated to do, as to do otherwise would be to apear to smile on what the Bible (the only recorded communication from the highest authoriuty in the universe) says is WRONG): You claim to be a christian brother, so I am following the Biblical command to admonish you away from your sin. By claiming to be a Christian, you are inviting me to do this so... here I go. Brother, I come to you quietly. You seem to be in a very deep sexual sin. Repent and return to Christ, and serve his kingdom, not the kingdom of the world.

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Birthday & Brighton 058.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Birthday & Brighton 058.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

1) I disagree with thte statement that you do not choose to be homosexual.

2) You have expressed a belief in universalism. . . If this belief was true, there would be no reason for evangelism. I believe this belief arises from a misunderstanding of God's law. No one goes to hell because they are not saved. People are judged because they break God's law. No more no less. Jesus "pays the fine" for those who repent and follow him. It is that simple. God would have still been just if he had not promised to save men from the judgement for their choices (not mistakes, choices). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zantaggerung (talkcontribs) 18:10, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Shell babelfish 20:35, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:LCSM.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:LCSM.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 19:59, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
