[edit] Speedy deletion of BeCheeky.com
A tag has been placed on BeCheeky.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit] BeCheeky.com
In response to your e-mail: I deleted the article, because it contained advertising or advertorial language for the company, and it didn't assert the notability of the company. The article made clear that the company exists, but that is not enough for a Wikipedia article. The article contained a large description of just about every single product the site has to offer, but Wikipedia is not a catalogue. I hope this answers your questions. If you still disagree with the deletion, you may ofcourse request a deletion review. AecisBrievenbus 00:08, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of BeCheeky.com
A tag has been placed on BeCheeky.com, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

[edit] BeCheeky.com article
In response to your e-mail: if you feel that the website, or rather the company behind the website, is notable enough for Wikipedia, you can request a deletion review. If you need help in doing so, you can leave a message on my talk page, and I will help you out. AecisBrievenbus 23:09, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
- As I said in my first or second message to you, I deleted the article, because it contained advertising or advertorial language for the company, and it didn't assert the notability of the company. To respond to the six points you raised on my talk page and in your e-mail to me:
- 1. You mentioned Marie Claire and Glam.com mentioning KnickerPicker.com, but you did it in such advertising language and corporate hyperbole that it easily qualified as blatant advertising.
- 2. Offering FREEPOST doesn't make a company notable enough for Wikipedia. Please read WP:CORP.
- 3. How does this make BeCheeky.com notable?
- 4. Could you provide some examples of this "notable business press"?
- 5. Is this a notable award?
- 6. Products endorsed by a notable person do not automatically become notable themselves.
- As I said, if you disagree with the speedy deletion, you're free to request a deletion review, and I'm more than willing to help you with that. AecisBrievenbus 21:31, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
- The procedure to request a deletion review is outlined in Wikipedia:Deletion review#Steps to list a new deletion review.
- 1. First, you copy the following line: {{subst:Newdelrev|pg=PAGE_NAME|reason=UNDELETE_REASON}} ~~~~
- 2. You paste that text on the review log of the day. For today, January 6, that would be this page.
- 3. You then replace PAGE_NAME with the name of the article, in this case BeCheeky.com, and you replace UNDELETE_REASON with your explanation why you think the article shouldn't have been deleted. Remember to keep it concise.
- 4. You then leave the template {{subst:DRVNote|BeCheeky.com}} ~~~~ on User talk:Aecis and User talk:Athaenara. Athaenara and I have both deleted the article, as you can see here.
- If you have done this and need someone to review if you have done all of this correctly, you can leave a message on my talk page. I hope this helps. AecisBrievenbus 15:04, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Basic use of talk pages
Since I see you don't quite understand how to use talk pages, I think I'll give you a basic guide:
- If you want to start a new section, use the little + (plus sign) at the top of the page. If you want to add a statement to an existing section, click on the "edit" link of that section.
- At the end of the content you're writing, please put ~~~~ (4 tildas). This will be made, by the software, into a signature.
- To talk about a page, please put its name (and not anything else) in double square brackets ([[article name]]). This becomes a link to the page. A link to a deleted page allows administrators to see the deleted contents of that page.
