[edit] Welcome

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! That's ridiculous. Its 17 or 18 here (can't remember). I don't know of anything which you have to be 21 to do except maybe a Heavy Goods Vehicle Licence. --BozMo talk 07:38, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] NCdave

I have proposed, on the community sanction noticeboard, that NCdave (talk ยท contribs) be banned from the Steven Milloy article and talk page for long-term disruptive and tendentious editing. As a participant on said article, I am notifying you of the thread. MastCell Talk 22:28, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Richard Lindzen

I note that you've made at least four attempts to remove material based on your interpretation of WP:BLP and that you've been reverted by at least four different editors. If you think you're justified on this you should go to BLP/Noticeboard, rather than continuing in this mode.JQ 04:49, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Its already there dude, read the talk page. --Theblog 04:53, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
Actually it WAS already there dude, some guy closed it without comment. Anyhow, read WP:BLP, you'll find the answer you seek there. --Theblog 05:34, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WP:BLP Noticeboard Richard Lindzen

You closed the entry, saying it was inactive after no one commented on it for a month. [1] Yet the blog info still get readded all the time. Couldn't you just wait until a neutral person looked at it or have done it yourself? --Theblog 05:33, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi! I closed the entry on 5 August; there had been no edits to either the article or the noticeboard entry since 21 July. That's a pretty good indication that the noticeboard entry isn't doing much good at that point. The best thing for you to do in such a case if problems continue with the article is to file a fresh noticeboard entry--it's more likely to bring fresh eyes to the article than an entry that has sat for a few weeks and has scrolled away from the part of the noticeboard where most of the attention is going. Please do file a new entry if there are still problems. -- Jonel (Speak to me) 14:47, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Raul654

i was going to open a request for comment on raul654 at [[2]], specifically covering the COI in raul banning ncdave. Will you support ? Peroxisome 13:54, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

I don't know what the rules are regarding such things, but Raul654 was quite clear in expressing his opinion of Steven Milloy here. That was a few hours after he blocked Peroxisome, and a few days before he banned me. NCdave 18:59, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
Here is what Raul654 wrote, just after blocking Peroxisome and a few days before banning me:
"...no, [Milloy] just takes money from [corporate interests] and then writes articles (and generally by distorting the truth) so as to advocate positions favorable to their bottom line. But of course there's no connection between the two." Raul654 22:26, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
Obviously, Raul654 has an axe to grind, and had no business acting as arbiter in these cases. NCdave 09:38, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Proposal to split DDT into sub articles

[edit] Spam in Therakos

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Therakos, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Therakos is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Therakos, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself.
