A welcome from Master of Puppets

Hello, The Scourge/July 2006 - July 2007, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We're glad to have you in our community! Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Though we all make goofy mistakes, here is what Wikipedia is not. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to see the help pages or add a question to the village pump. The Community Portal can also be very useful.

Happy editing!

P.S. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you need help with anything or simply wish to say hello. :) Also, try not to remove warnings as you did with the image warnings; those are ok for now, as you fixed them, but in the future please don't. Thanks! Master of Puppets That's hot. 05:51, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

Hey, don't worry about it. Also, if you don't like a full talk page, you can archive sections of your talk page, like I do; it keeps the main talk clear and you have easily-accessible backups of previous versions on seperate pages. Cheers, Master of Puppets Giant Enemy Crab! 17:19, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Danse Macabre

Hey Scourge - what did you change about the UK image? I can't figure it out. Thanks, TheronJ 02:02, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Blade The Vampire Related

You claim to have created the article Jared Nomak when in fact it was me. Nevertheless, I will allow this for I am hoping to expand the Blade category to include Dracula (Blade comics), House of Chthon and others. Care to join me? --SGCommand (talkcontribs) 20:00, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

Image tagging for Image:Red X.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Red X.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Blade The Series: Related questions

Thanks for the house contribution. I thought about linking the House of Erebus to the wiki page on it, but it does not seem to have the same relation for the series. The House of Erebus precides over 12 other tribes. I question that I would have the series is whether every house has tribes beneath them or whether the House of Erebus in Blade the series is a clear departure from the movies. What do you think?cprockhill

Unspecified source for Image:CandiceMichelle.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:CandiceMichelle.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 19:20, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

You said: "The image source is there, man. WWE.com. I don't control where or when they move the images, but that's where it's from."

Are you sure you mean the image is on that particular page and not another page within that site? I can't find it on the main page and you must specify the exact page the image is contained on. --Yamla 19:41, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
You said: "Direct link to the image; Page where image is found"
Great. Please add that source along with the mandatory detailed fair-use rationale to the image. --Yamla 19:47, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Blade: Trinity Question

Shaould an article be created for Drake/Dracula from the films i.e. [[Drake (Blade character)?--SGCommand (talkcontribs) 14:53, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

created Drake‎ --SGCommand (talkcontribs) 10:09, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Some quick things

1. I noticed you "revamped" the movie version of Deacon Frost, it looked a bit bare.
2. Will their be articles for Shen, Chase, etc?
3. I could use some help with the Drake article.--SGCommand (talkcontribs) 13:09, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

RE: MVP/Ken Kennedy

No problem, I figured it had something to do with their appearance on Raw tonight, everyone makes mistakes. Take care. Bmg916 Speak to Me 02:47, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Drake (Blade character)

Just a friendly reminder that the article needs updating please--SGCommand (talkcontribs) 11:51, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Forever red.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Forever red.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:45, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Buffy status

I know Wikipedia's not a joke website, but in my defense I did leave that comment the first week I started editing, and have since learned the rules and made many helpful contributions. Consider my wrist well and truly slapped. Paul730 01:20, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Ps, I didn't change the image, but the "looking out over hellmouth" pic of Buffy is so much nicer than the ponytail one. Why change it? A headshot's a headshot, we might as well use the prettier one. Paul730 01:21, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
Ok, I didn't upload/change/do anything whatsoever to the picture or any picture on Wikipedia, I just thought it was a better quality photo (less blurry for one thing). It seems like you are personally offended that your image was changed, and I do not appreciate your impatient and condecending tone when all I was doing was asking a friendly question. I refer you to WP:AGF. Oh, and please sign your comments with four squiggly things. Ta. Paul730 01:34, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
I'm sorry for judging you, but I've had to deal with editors throwing hissy fits when their stuff is changed before, and I mistakenly believed you to be one of them. I also apologise for being deliberately patronising by refering you to Good Faith and reminding you to sign your comments. I was annoyed with you, and was being a bitch. Like I said, I am not familiar with Wiki policies regarding images and your kurt tone pissed me off. Fresh start? Paul730 01:53, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
Liking the new picture of Angel you put up. See, fair use pictures don't have to be ugly. While you're at it, think you could find decent fair use pics of Doyle and Anya? Paul730 21:38, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
Nice work! Like the Anya one especially; her curly blonde hair is my favourite look for her.  :) Paul730 04:55, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
LOVE the new Buffy picture. Such nicer hair and crisper quality! However, I have a slight issue with Xander's picture; it is not a very good quality picture because you can barely make out his features. While I appreciate you using an eyepatch picture of him, isn't that kind of recentism? He only wears an eyepatch for three out of 143 episodes. If you don't mind, could you find another picture for the infobox and move the eyepatch one down to the S7 section of the character history? Thanks. Paul730 05:38, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I do actually prefer Xander with the eyepatch, but the current picture seems to focus more on his shirt than his face. Considering that the comic will no doubt run for years with him in an eyepatch, it probably would be best to show him wearing it. Paul730 06:02, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

New Pics

Hey I couldn't help noticing that the new pictures you added, for Buffy; Anya; and so on, were great. High quality greatness. So anyway I'm not much with the image uploading, and more with the editing, of summaries, so I think it would be great if you updated more, characters pictures. Such as Xander (whose is not good quality); and Giles (whose is small, and could be better). That would be great, but I'm not making you or anything, you just are great of picking in episode screenshots of the charactors, and I think you should continue it. Good Luck! ---Smartjoe299

This might sound random, but would you mind uploading a picture of Spike giving Xander the finger in "Hush"? I'm trying to get Spike's article to GA and I think that image would go nicely in his "Personality" section since it basically demonstates his attitude towards most of the characters and life in general. While you're at it, could you give the Spike article a look over and check for anything wrong with it? I'm concerned that it's too long. Thanks. Paul730 04:25, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Gasp* You're right, that's so shameful I didn't remember that! Isn't it more dirty where I am (Scotland) than in America? Paul730 04:57, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Sorry to be a pain, but could you scale it down and put it in the article? I'm sure it's easy, but I'm pretty clueless when it comes to Wikipedia images. Paul730 05:25, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, it looks really good! Paul730 05:42, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Jg chase.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Jg chase.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jackofalltradesmasterofnone 13:28, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Sh spike.gif

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Sh spike.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Malkinann 06:38, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Jack_Krauser.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Jack_Krauser.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:55, 26 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ElinorD (talk) 16:55, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
