Wisden

Cheers. NB. --Dweller (talk) 10:13, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Watch out for J Peeling's edits then. --Dweller (talk) 10:20, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Two things. One: see Talk:Wisden Cricketers of the Year#Lead image. Two: Would be nice to summarise nationalities when we're done. However, to keep it meaningful (disproportionate number of Englishmen in early years) we could do so in a table that had a line summarising each period covered in the list, with a totals column. Suggest we include all of the Test playing countries (zeros for countries are relevant and interesting) and then perhaps an italicised section for non Test playing countries like Wales. I was dying to plump for Argie and Yank nationalities on 2 of the oddities, but couldn't really justify either. --Dweller (talk) 11:33, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Plus you just gotta use that fabulously exotic pic of Ranjitsinhji --Dweller (talk) 11:42, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Nice work. Isn't that Billy Bunter? lol! What do you need sourced? NB I've listed NCFC History at FAC after (and before!) tidying some silly mistakes and sorting out the dates issues. Please check the latter for me when you have a mo. --Dweller (talk) 12:21, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
OK. Going off wiki for a bit. No worries re PR. I'll take a look for sources/help finishing/totalling flags when I'm back, FAC permitting! --Dweller (talk) 12:30, 7 April 2008 (UTC) Ferris - Say oops. First, he played for Aus and England, not RSA. Second, you can call him Aussie (with a footnote to explain) because his England period postdates his Wisden award. --Dweller (talk) 12:47, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Tintin's also good on early stuff, but he can be tricky to pin down. --Dweller (talk) 12:50, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Whatcha apologisin for!?!? Not sure to what extent we need to worry about catching every one of these "born here, played here" chaps. I know there are more in that list, but it's not essential, is it? --Dweller (talk) 15:17, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

OK, good call. --Dweller (talk) 15:36, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Wanna handle the rsssf comment at the NCFC FAC? --Dweller (talk) 15:37, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Bloody good work. Though I do think it's a shame we've lost the flags - it definitely added utility. Re pix, why not go all the way to the foot? I thought of ensuring 1 per recent decade. I quite liked the Boycs illustration for the 60s. --Dweller (talk) 09:14, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
I suggest we remove one of the 00s winners and, if we can find someone from the 1910s, McCartney, as the 20s are already represented twice in the Hobbs and Sutcliffe image. --Dweller (talk) 09:59, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Duh! 40s missing too. OK, include one of the Invincibles from the 49 Wisden (your choice) in place of MacCartney. No space for a 1910s player unless we drop either Grace or Ranji and the former is indispensible IMHO and the latter is just such a great pic... --Dweller (talk) 10:02, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
OK, I dunnit. If Boycs and Gooch were replaced by peeps with shorter pix, we might be able to squeeze in a 1910s person, but I doubt it. Or we could bite the bullet and drop Ranji. Whaddaya fink? --Dweller (talk) 10:22, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

A favour, please

Hey. Can I ask a favour from you, please? Can you take a look over User:Qst/Family Guy (season 5). I hope to bring it to FL soon, and have based it from Lost and The Simpsons lists, minus any show runners for that season, as Family Guy doesn't use them as far as I know, and minus any awards. If you could take a look and give me some feedback, that would be great. Thanks, mate. Qst (talk) 15:55, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Request

Hi TRM, sorry to bother you. Could you please delete these two pages: Secular Muslim and Funerary art so they can be moved? Evidence is found at WP:RM#Uncontroversial proposals. Thanks, PeterSymonds | talk 17:36, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Secular Muslim. The singular is preferred per this. Thanks for your help! PeterSymonds | talk 17:41, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Sorry for not being clear. Secular Muslim is what the page needs to be moved to, so that's the one that needs to be deleted in order for the move to be made from Secular Muslims. Hope this is clearer (sorry). PeterSymonds | talk 17:46, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Oh for goodness sake! Sorry to be a nuisance, but someone else moved the page but didn't remove it from the list! Therefore could you now undelete Secular Muslim. I'm so sorry to cause so much hassle! PeterSymonds | talk 17:52, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Yep, that's the one. Sorry again; as you say, long day! PeterSymonds | talk 17:56, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Degrassi

Forgot about you, lol!

I've had to fix up some things that were wrong or forgotten by MatthewEdwards when he took the summaries listed aboved the episodes and moved them to another page. Lets see, he forgot about actress Shirley Douglas and the link to CTV listed all things "CTV", not just the network.

A few other more recent things like the episode titles and DVDs. Robinepowell (talk) 19:10, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Again, like I said I forgot about you and more rencently I did add comments. For some episodes user think that they were only two parters in Syndication and I've said this isn't true, just the opposite. Here: http://www.ctv.ca/mini/degrassi2006/Video10.html Robinepowell (talk) 19:19, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

I left a reply on her talk page -- αŁʰƏЩ @ 22:24, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Well I'd like to know why the DVDs are listed twice, the second time in the episode section. Also there's the fact that two parts episodes are being listed as one for the first couple of seasons, when they should be listed as two. Makes no sense to not follow the pattern set by later episodes. Robinepowell (talk) 05:19, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi

NB more comments at the Wisden article talk. Re NCFC managers, Stansfield, according to EDP managed over 200 games (looks about right) but Soccerbase says about 1/10th of that. What to do? Where can I get reliable manager stats, regardless of whether combining their stints i/c of the club? (Incidentally, I wonder if war-time matches might explain the difference?) --Dweller (talk) 15:42, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi. Well, either NCFC managers or seasons. Need RS for managers stats that allow breakdown between seasons which the EDP source doesn't have. For seasons need RS for top scorers. Hmmm. Also, watching our FAC and FLC and responding on some of the urgent FACs. You can do me a favour though... review my warning to Mick. I'm wondering if I've been slightly heavy-handed after a bad night. --Dweller (talk) 09:11, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

In the 1959–60 season, Norwich were promoted to the Second Division after finishing second to Southampton, and achieved a fourth place finish in the 1960–61 season.[27] From 1960, Norwich spent the next 12 seasons in the second tier, with finishes of 4th in 1961 and 6th in 1965 being among the most notable before promotion to the First Division in 1972.[33][34][35]

Request for help

Hi! Dweller suggested I talk to you (and apologized for adding to yoru to-do list).

I am kind of new here. I used to just wikipedia for research and I would edit under my IP address. Then I saw some (bad) articles pop up about Savoy and Love Systems, two prominent names in the dating science community. As a former customer and active participant, I figured this was my chance to jump in and make a contribution.

One admin by the name of Rhaworth jumped in with a whole bunch of sarcastic comments and repeatedly and without evidence accused me of being a sock puppet for half a dozen people, a paid shill, and all sorts of things without evidence. He ignored my request for a Checkuser. He ignored repeated requests to work things out, saying why don't you go find someone with "a shred of sympathy".

You can see the details on his user page and mine.

He's had to withdraw the sock puppet allegations in a dark corner of his user pages but refuses to remove the tags he put up all over the place.

All I want is for the guy to leave me alone. He's as much as said that he will move for a speedy deletion of those pages even if I resubmit them properly (I was at the time still learning how wikipedia works).

Is there anything I can do?

Its great to chat with a user who has such a high position in the wikipedian community. Just wondering What is the tally that a user needs to get to be promoted as an admin? Terry Venables

Hi I was hoping you won't mind me asking for a some advice on how to correctly deal with a somewhat petty little spat that has broken out on Terry Venables here. I twice have reverted an edit by User talk:83.71.9.176 concerning TV's playing record with St Patricks Athletic F.C.. I decided to avoid the inevitable third round of edits given this editor's aggressive and preemptive threats and allow it to rest a day or two. My issue as I explained on the talk page was merely that the edit could not be verified as the citation was to a subscription only archive and when one checked the Club's site there was no mention of what is a pretty notable footballer. An unnoffical club site included in my post suggests TV guested a couple of time. Thanks for any thoughts on next steps with thisTmol42 (talk) 13:28, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for reviewing this for me and taking the further action, Cheers Tmol42 (talk) 17:48, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Arsenal list

It looks like I will be the one closing it. Right now, I'm leaning towards a no consensus because both sides of the debate clearly have valid points and to pick one over the other would be a bad move. However, while Colin is the only one to comment about the sourcing issues, it is part of the criteria, and WP:V concerns usually aren't that hard to fix. -- Scorpion0422 15:26, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, it started out as the hockey WP vs. the Football WP, but I think the delist side has more non-WP:HOCKEY Wikipedians and a couple of FLC regulars, so it's a tough call. I feel like a no consensus is kind of dodging the issue, but the discussion is clearly deadlocked and there haven't been any new comments. Is there any movement from the keep side to create multiple pages for these player lists or rename the pages? As well, would you consider taking another look at the List of Medal of Honor recipients FLC? I was going to close it, but it seems a shame when it's so close. -- Scorpion0422 15:37, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
I already did. By the way, do you think we should write something about the Arsenal FLRC for the Featured content dispatch? -- Scorpion0422 15:56, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
I mentioned the idea on the dispatch talk page, and while it wasn't met with 100% enthusiasm, they decided to let us try. It looks like Woody and I will be working on a dispatch column here. If you would like to help, it would be appreciated. -- Scorpion0422 19:45, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

FLC

Good morning! (Though when you read this I'll have just gone to bed.. zzzz)

How's things? I have addressed the comments you left at Featured list candidates/List of Los Angeles Police Department officers killed in the line of duty and Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officers killed in the line of duty. If the LAPD ones have been addressed to your satisfacion (Only the Marshal thing is outstanding, to which I replied to both you and Collectonian and do need further suggestion on), would you be able to hide them as it is getting rather large because of a discussion on whether the list itself is encyclopaedic enough for Wikipedia. Your opinion on this would be appreciated, too. I've also asked you a couple of questions to your comments at the LASD one, regarding the use of "California" and image placement.

Finally, I'm sure it's just an oversight as there's been a phenominal amount of FLCs recently, but I have a number of outstanding noms that you've commented on but not given a final "vote" or opinion on. They are Featured list candidates/List of 7th Heaven episodes, Featured list candidates/Degrassi: The Next Generation, and Featured list candidates/Degrassi: The Next Generation. They really need to be finished as they've been there a while, so if your concerns have been addressed, I'd certainally appreciate it if you'd be able to revisit. Have a good day! -- αŁʰƏЩ @ 06:57, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Hello Rambling Man!

Sorry to trouble you, but I just wondered if I could ask a favour. You were kind enough to give me heaps of good advice about this article during its recent Peer Review, which I hope I have addressed, and it is now up for FAC. I just wondered if you could cast your eye over it again and decide if you could give your support to it? . It has won Good Article status and been vigorously copy-edited since the last time you looked at it I think. I've also had to remove a lot of the photos, to fit in with FA standard, so it doesn't look quite the same, and the refs have been tightened up too. (It has two supports so far, and no opposes, so fingers crossed!). Many thanks, --seahamlass 10:07, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

List of Stanley Cup champions

I've recently been cleaning up the article, prepping it for a potential FLC. While the cup has been awarded since 1894, the article only contains results since 1914. The 1894-1913 results are here because at the time it was a challenge cup and in several years there were multiple games and in most cases a detailed explanation is needed, but adding all necessary details to the main article would make it too long and complex, which is why the sub-list was made. Do you think the list should contain the entire history? -- Scorpion0422 17:19, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

I've actually come to a bit of a compromise. I decided to list just the winners at the main list, and then I'll leave the details to the more specific one. -- Scorpion0422 17:31, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Question

Hey TRM, congratulations on the History of Norwich City F.C. FA and thanks so much for your help on the backlog (as always). I am not great on reviewing sport and assumed for some reason that you might be interested in 2006 FIFA World Cup, but since you have not reviewed it yet, I will be glad to do it if you want (it would make a nice change of pace from another Jain article). Just let me know, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 15:16, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

AFC Wimbledon

Why can't the Wimbledon article be moved to its proper title. The periods in the AFC are incorrect, and inconsistent with the rest of the article. I tried to move the article and it wouldn't let me. -- Grant.Alpaugh 15:17, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

First, I don't yet know how to do an overwrite (if you show me I'd be appreciative). Second, only the most major links have to be fixed, as from what I understand they get changed by a bot within a few days. -- Grant.Alpaugh 15:23, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Improper userpage

I came across this userpage while patrolling ...

User:LilA1234 has tried several times to create an article about the Trailor Hood Wrestling Federation (THWF) and each time it has been speedy-deleted. See here. So, this user now has the THWF article as his user page, with the lead-in "Hi My Name Is Andrew Hanson And I Am LilA1234 ANd Beings That I Cant Have A Wikipedia Page On A Actual Page I Will DO It Here". I know that user pages are pretty-much free-reign so I asked the Help Desk and they tell me this is not a proper use. Per Wikipedia:User page#Copies of other pages:

While userpages and subpages can be used as a development ground for generating new content, this space is not intended to indefinitely archive your preferred version of disputed or previously deleted content or indefinitely archive permanent content that is meant to be part of the encyclopedia. In other words, Wikipedia is not a free web host. Private copies of pages that are being used solely for long-term archival purposes may be subject to deletion....

I'm not sure what to do with this. Can't find a suitable speedy-delete; PROD would be contested; AfD is all that's left, which seems over-burdensome for something that violates policy. Can you help please? Thanks. Truthanado (talk) 15:23, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Sorry to be pedantic, but I don't think you should have moved the AFC Wimbledon page - there had been a requested move to do it previously (which failed), and it should have gone through another one. Administator cleanup

I didn't realize that suggestion I submitted to clean up the administrators access would be taken so harshly. I mean its just good cleanup. and all they have to do is request it back. The whole argument of what if they come back is really pretty much pointless to me cause if someone has been gone since 2003 the likelihood of them returning is extremely small. Its possible but small.--Kumioko (talk) 16:31, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Subject Matter Expert

I created a page in my sandbox to show an idea I have for creating a Page or project to identify wikipedians as Subject Matter experts or near experts on a given subject. Right now its just one big page but if it takes off it could be multiple pages and or projects. The basic concept is that if I am knowledgable about Math, Science, Wikipedia policy, speaking greek or whatever I can put my name under the category or categories I am interested in participating in and if someone has a question or needs help relating to that subject they can go to that page and contact one of them on their talk page. Obviously its more useful for popular or obsure subjects but in general I think that it would help to improve the public perception that Wikipedia content can't be trusted. Plus it will give new users or users who jsut need help. Its still a very rough idea and right now I based the page on the Logistics page of the Military history project but I see this changing into somethin much bigger. If you don't mind take a look and let me know what you think. I know that there were a couple of things similar for designating an expert but I believe that last thing that WP needs is another voting pool. I am going to leave this message on a few other talk pages of editors that I work with frequently to get some general opinions or ideas before I try and sell it to the WP as a whole. Please let me know what you think.--Kumioko (talk) 19:02, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Good or featured article question

Is length a disqualifyer for not making the cut for a GA or FA? The reason I ask is becuase in the case of the Medal of Honor recipients in many cases they died so young or there is so little info known that the article simply wouldn't have that much even if all known facts were presented. If you look at Darrell S. Cole for example do you think after adding a few inline citations and maybe some additional references that it could qualify?--Kumioko (talk) 18:46, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Re: Copa del Rey

Hi there! This is a very old story... if you read the note following (*) in the article, there is a short explanation on this. And if you read the talk page you'll see a VERY long argument that took place a couple of years ago. The facts are:

  • The 1902 (first) cup is on display in Bilbao's museum and is accounted in the club's title list.
  • It is not accounted by official Spanish soccer organism, RFEF.
  • FC Barcelona winned its 24th title in 1998, since then the official title list of Barcelona accounts 24 cups and Bilbao's 23

After this, you have the real facts. Then there is the political side of all it, the Basque nationalism, discrimination against all things Basque in Spain, and right now a results crisis in FC Barcelona that motivates anonymous users from Barcelona to change Bilbao title number to 23. It's been settled for more than a year that the table should display 24 titles with the (*) note indicating the whole controversy... but now that these are hard times for FC Barcelona, their fans are coming here to make sure Barcelona is the all time winner... hope this clarifies the thing David (talk) 09:07, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Yeah, old story. The real fact is that Bilbao has 23 titles in the official list of the RFEF (the organizator of the cup), and your opinion (the Bilbao position) is clearly exposed in that note following the (*), BUT the number of cups that may be displayed is 23, not 24. 23 marked with an asterisk is the correct solution. The arguments of Basque nationalism, discrimination and Barcelona hard times (if so, in what crisis is Bilbao?) are absolutely out of this discussion. Regards. Wikizin (talk) 16:56, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I asked for this discussion to take place on the talk page of the article, not here, thanks. If this edit war continues I will have no choice but to protect the page from editing until the issue is resolved. The Rambling Man (talk) 17:04, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
You're correct, my fault. I only try to defend that it isn't a anonymous vandalism, there's long time that a lot of users are trying to correct this error on the Copa del Rey page, but this user don't permit it. The discussion is taking place in talk page and will continue there. Thanks and regards. Wikizin (talk) 17:15, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

1) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ellie_Dylan 2) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SKYSHAPERS_Foundation

The issue I have is with the second one. I have a note on top the article saying it is written like an advertisement. I thought I just included the facts I researched but I would like to modify the article so it does not sound like an advertisement. Could you shed some light or give me some pointers?

Overhaul of FL criteria

I've re-started the process here and am notifying the four candidates for director as well as advertising at FLC talk and FAC talk. Your input would be valued. TONY (talk) 05:17, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Highlander: The Series (season 1)

Hello, great to see you back. I have addressed your comments while you were away, would you care to review them and see if there is anything else as the end of this FLC is slowly but steadily getting closer ? I'm sure I sound nervous. But I'm not. *nervous twitch* :D Thank you, have a nice day. Rosenknospe (talk) 11:21, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

New Project

Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.

If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 17:57, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Gills

Feels like 1989 all over again. I found my old journal which I used to keep at that time and I seem to have been on the verge of suicide when the Gills went down to what was then Div Four, but I was a teenager then and I'm a lot more world-weary and jaded now :-P ChrisTheDude (talk) 18:52, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey Rambler

Hey Rambler, as an outside user from Wikiproject Pro Wrestling, can you read Backlash (2003) and comment on it's peer review.--~SRS~ 17:17, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

List of International Cricket Council members

I believe I'm ready for a re-review of this featured list candidate now. I've addressed the list of changes you left and I have fixed those issues. I'd appreciate your support, and thanks for reviewing the list!Blackhole77 talk | contrib 20:59, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/1995 Japanese Grand Prix

As you reviewed it just over a month ago, it's back at FAC after it's first FAC failed. Could you possibly re review (and possibly support!) it for us? Thanks! D.M.N. (talk) 21:06, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of Dutch vegetarians

Hi Rambling Man, my article has been an fac candidate for about a week now and all issues have been addressed. Could you please review it? Thanks in advance. Baldrick90 (talk) 10:56, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Why remove that link from San Francisco International Film Festival?

I'm curious; it appears to have some value. 17:23, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Edits to football club pages

Reliable sources are needed for references to info on football clubs; the BBC pages are perhaps among the most reliable sources for the information I have added. 20:28, 5 May 2008 (UTC) Burt Burger

I fixed the suggestions you made, except one. See: the review page for the reason why. You haven't replied for a few days so I just wanted to make sure I fixed everything. Thanks! Blackngold29 21:08, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Request

Hey TRM, I was wondering if you would be willing to give one of your wonderful reviews over here. Your suggestions are always very helpful and I would like to get your opinion. Now if the sardines are taking up all your time, I understand :) Hope all is well. « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 06:43, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Thank you! So the sardines arent taking all your time ;) « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 06:49, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Ah, ok. Quick question regarding this comment, who is your team (just curious)? « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 06:55, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Ah, I'm a Gunner :) « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 06:59, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Ha! I only wonder what the season would have been like if my team didn't lose half of the squad to injury. I guess I can;t be disappointed with what we had to work with. « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 07:04, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
I replied :) « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 07:56, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
I replied, but I shall be going to sleep now, its 2:40am where I live. Thanks for the review. « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 09:40, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Now looking at the the remaining people and the sources for these people, I really don't feel they deserve an article at this time, so I went along and delinked them. If you have anymore suggestions, they would be welcome, otherwise thanks gain for the review. « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 04:27, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Welcome back, oily fish man

Sorry about your boys. Not. 2 more derbies next season, eh? Now, would you like an input at a particularly needy FLC? Chuck me a link and I'll do it today/tomorrow. --Dweller (talk) 11:42, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Brilliant, lol. I'll do a FAC first, per my promise to Sandy. --Dweller (talk) 11:48, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Check. --Dweller (talk) 11:49, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Well, I'm not going to artificially change my editing behaviour because of the election. Besides, the result's been clear almost since the word go! --Dweller (talk)

I think it was time for Hucks to go. GR is his own man and wants his own team. Huck's salary will definitely help. We'll have (I reckon) about 9 first team squad players left next season that were around this season. Plenty of chances for GR to build. And I think he's got a bit of cash to go with his excellent eye for a player. We'll see. --Dweller (talk) 12:01, 6 May 2008 (UTC) Hmm. Two FLCs reviewed, two fat Os. That'll bring the votes in in droves, eh? Lol. NB Ready for mayhem? --Dweller (talk) 15:51, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm sorry

I got myself into this situation in all innocence. I am Peter May's webmaster and thought that made me well qualified to write the article on him. In my defence I took great pains to remain objective and I made absolutely no attempt to hide my identity - as you can see by my username.

When the recent issues arose, I immediately sought help from the editors and I was in the process of discussing the conflict of interest with another editor who was giving me advice on the situation.

As a result of their advice, I had already agreed that the addition of the references would be my final contribution to the Peter May (writer) article.

However, I hope that you will judge my contributions objectively and reasonably. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Janice.hally (talkcontribs) 15:10, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Renames

As you noted on Majorly's (Al tally) talk page, you take issue with being noted as not using your rename tools. You make specific mention that the rename board has not been backlogged since you were promoted. This however, is not true. Since you noted that you wished Majorly had spoken to you about it, I'm doing so now. I only noticed your comment after I had saved my oppose, else I would have spoken to you sooner. Your contributions to other areas of the project (especially mainspace) are much more valuable than performing largely irrelevant renames. So please, do not take this as an attack or negative statement toward you. I am merely noting that we have a chronic backlog at the rename boards, and I would like new bureaucrats to handle it, and you have yet to use that tool once. Apologies if you are upset by my mention; it was decidedly not my intention. seresin ( ¡? ) 22:39, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
