[edit] Note about Halo 3 Physics
I find that the very fact that he mentioned Havok physics in his post indicative that they do use it to some extent. If they didn't use it at all, why mention it? What he was saying, is that they don't use it for melees. They have thier own code running on top of havok physics that does melee clearly. Havok in Halo 3 seems to be used, like in halo 2, for more general physics; cars crashing into walls, boxes knocking into things, ragdoll physics etc etc.
They used their own physics solution in Halo 1, but it was very limited next to Havok. In Halo 2 they used Havok 2.0 I believe. It would be odd for them to have reverted to using their own and say nothing about it don't you think? And then mention a middleware that they no longer use, in a discussion about Physics? So, if you don't mind, I will be adding the sentence back in; unless overwhelming counter-evidence emerges. RC Master 17:39, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

- I feel that he mentioned Havok physics to show that Bungie arn't using Havok anymore, you may know there were many bugs such the super-bouncing, I will not go into an edit war with you into the issue, because you may be correct, they are just two interpretations of the same text. I guess when I finally have the game in my hands on september the 26th, this will be solved.

- Havok is not the only physics middleware engine that can handle ragdoll physics etc, they are using their own proprietary engine for the entire game, well, thats how I interpreted it.

After looking more into this, I have been digging in Havok's homepage, and have discovered a list of upcoming titles that are using Havok, and indeed, halo 3 was in said list. I will now be adding that to the references and give props to your statement.

- Thanks, and don't feel bad, it was an easy mistake to make. But, the issue is resolved. RC Master 19:33, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Images
Hi, you've uploaded a few un-free images to Wikipedia, namely Image:Halo Legendary Edition.jpg and Image:Halo 3 Equipment.jpg. Yes, you are allowed to upload fair use images, but they need to have a fair use rationale, the template is not enough on it's own. Basically you need to explain exactly where you got the image from (a link), why you want that specific image, why there are no free alternatives and which article or articles it will be used in (otherwise it must be removed from the articles not mentioned in the rationale). This is so that it is very clear to the copyright owner that fair-use applies to this image and they can't sue Wikipedia. The images will be deleted if you don't supply sufficient rationales. For the first image (Image:Halo Legendary Edition.jpg) there is a free alternative that I have put into the article Halo 3, so the image will be deleted. Also it is not against policy to delete comments from your talk page, but it is conventional to leave them or archive them. Thanks for your time, James086Talk | Email 23:48, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- Please keep uploading images, it's just that they need to be tagged properly. It can be very confusing (I strayed away from fair use until about a year of editing) but once you get it, it becomes simple. If you can provide a link to where you got the equipment image, I'll give it a rationale. Also, screenshots that you take (even if it's you with a capture-card) are also fair use because the content of the image is copyright of Bungie Studios. That seems to be a problem with Wikipedia, there's too much to learn as soon as you start, but I hope it doesn't discourage you. If you have any questions feel free to ask. - I've added a fair use rationale to Image:Halo 3 Equipment.jpg. This will keep the image from deletion and Wikipedia from lawsuits. The Halo Wiki is not actually related to Wikipedia because it is not owned by the Wikimedia Foundation. The names are similar, but if Bungie were to sue the Halo Wiki, Wikipedia would remain unnaffected. It is unlikely that Bungie (or any other video game company) actually would sue because really it's almost advertising for them, but it's preferable that Wikipedia remains legal so that no-one would have the opportunity. If you need help with images or anything else, go right ahead and ask. There's also a Halo WikiProject (a collaboration to organise Halo articles) where people would be more than willing to help. [edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Halo 3 Equipment.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Halo 3 Equipment.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:42, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
