The 2 new System of a Down albums
Hello, Mr. Hate. Sorry I had to apologized for your reverting changes, but really Hypnotize is first and Mezmerize is last. See for yourself: [1] and [2]. Right now there should be a better idea that you wait until you see what happens. OK. Feel free to talk to me about this. -- Mike Garcia | talk 00:46, 26 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- Hi Mike. Do you have any other sources you can cite? The one you provided doesn't seem very reliable, and as I pointed out earlier, there's several articles on http://www.systemofadownonline.com/ that state that Mesmerize is first. Adding to this, I have a magazine that features an advertisement for Mesmerize with the April release dates. Unless you can come up with another source, please revert your changes. MrHate 02:10, Mar 1, 2005 (UTC)
Please Understand
I'm so sorry, MrHate. But, I'm afraid you're information is wrong and I'm not trying to accuse you. You may have not looked at the websites I linked, that's where they have the accurate information. OK. Also, I will not stop reverting you and there's nothing you're gonna do about it, how'ya gonna stop me? You're just like some IP address users. -- Mike Garcia | talk 03:12, 3 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Hi, I have protected the pages in question until I can look into and resolve the issue. That will likely be on Saturday. Please be patient with me on this. Mike has been doing some wonderful music work recently, and I want to get some more information. Thanks. Danny 02:47, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Slipknot (band)
I have no idea what's going on in the article (I care not about the band) but I enforced the style manual and your blanket revert undid my work.

Thanks
Hey, good work on System of a Down and other music-related articles lately. By the way, are you a bassist? :-) Nadavspi | talk 03:49, 8 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks a lot! And thanks for helping out with the whole Mezmerize/Hypnotize thing. And yep, I am a bassist :) MrHate 03:53, Mar 8, 2005 (UTC)
Smashing Pumpkins
Hi MrHate,
I noticed the image you uploaded, Image:SmashingPumpkins-MCISera.jpg. It's great to have a picture at The Smashing Pumpkins; thanks! I have one question: you've tagged it as {{pd}}. But where did the picture come from? Are you the photographer!? Otherwise, do you have some reason to think it's really public domain?
Thanks, dbenbenn | talk 14:10, 10 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Hey there. To be honest, I only put the {{pd}} tag in temporarily until I could think of what it should be tagged with. The picture is from a promo shoot for MCIS, but no I'm not the photographer. Do you have any suggestions on a tag? I'm relatively new to using images on Wikipedia MrHate 00:39, Mar 11, 2005 (UTC)
Mike Garcia and your AMA Request
Hi, I'm Wally, an advocate for the AMA. We recently received your request for assistance regarding the System of a Down album controversy. You might be interested to know that the user about whom you lodge the complaint, User:Mike Garcia, has another complaint against him lodged with us, this time regarding the band Ned's Atomic Dustbin. This user is something of a special case, and therefore I referred the last case, and do so this one, to User:Guanaco, who has a special responsibility for assuring that Mike Garcia adheres to the terms of his ArbCom ruling. I hope that by discussing it with he and Mike Garcia resolution can be reached. I've already alerted User:Guanaco, and am going to do so for User:Mike Garcia, that if any further complaint are received against him that it will be necessary to seek an injunction from Wikipedia's Arbitration Committee. If you have any further questions, please do not hesistate to contact me. Wally 23:56, 23 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I wonder, have you had any further difficulties since posting your request for assistance, or is the situation resolved? Wally 02:52, 27 Mar 2005 (UTC)
-
- Hi Wally. I had a lot of trouble with the user User:Mike Garcia, but due to both of us seeking assistance, a third party found me to be correct and his edits to be wrong. He accepted the decision and I have not had any further encounters with the user, although I do think the comments he made during the conflict were way out of line (see my talk page) and do think he needs to be monitored closely. Thanks very much for your help in this situation :) MrHate 15:13, Mar 28, 2005 (UTC)
grindcore/ noisecore edit
i edited the noisecore part of grindcore to add DETP which u disargreed. i cut this from the mathcore section of wikipedia : "Mathcore, also known as math metal, noisecore, tech hardcore, or chaotic hardcore, " i thought DETP was noiscore and according to this definition it is. also what do u think on my thoughts for futher edits regarding the future of grindcore and the ommision of nasum, discordance axis and pig destroyer in the article. omitting these bands is like omitting nile in the death metal article. u can put ur comments under my discussion. thanks for ur attention.
- Dillinger (TDEP, not DETP :)) are indeed mathcore. However, mathcore and noisecore are direct opposites. I'll edit the mathcore article to reflect this. Mathcore is a precise and complex form of extreme music, closely related to grindcore. Noisecore is simply that... noise. Usually just playing random notes as fast as possible :) As to your other question, I'm not familiar with Nasum and Discordant Axis but in my opinion, Pig Destroyer are probably the leaders in grind at the moment and should definately have a mention on the page. MrHate 08:08, Jun 12, 2005 (UTC)
thanks for ur time. ur a credit to wikepedia. if ur a grind core fan u must check out discordance axis and nasum.
discordance axis sounds like old napalm death meets noiscore/alternative (once again i may have misused the term noisecore) with a touch of sonic youth. (napalm death themselves r influenced a little by sonic youth. i asked jesse and mitch of ND in person over a beer and more in their tour bus confirming what i read in a magazine.) it features david witte as a drummer who i believe was in human remains (an awesome new york style DM with an avant garde touch and unwordly guitar sounds) and burnt by the sun (a notable noise core [i think. once again i may have misused this term] band from relapse records.) but the music is totally different. their best album is named "the inalienable dreamless." like pig destroyer they dont have a bass player, unfortunately. but u will hardly notice this like in pig destroyer. i myself just heard the band recently and i was shocked to have almost overlooked them. i guess i must have missed them as i am primarily a death metal head and the music is quite un-metallic and artsy although intense as any other grindcore band. they sound nothing like any other band and i saw a review that said they, nasum and pig destroyer r the future of grindcore. anyways here is link with a review and a sound sample link - http://www.metal-observer.com/articles.php?lid=1&sid=1&id=7274
http://www.studio-grey.com/da/sound.html (the band's site. one of the members is some kind of artist or something working one something else. also their whole album was remixed by noise artists Merzbow but that is offline currently)
nasum unfortanetly lost a member in the tsunami. there sound is swedish death metal meets grindcore. very melodic and have great song structure for grind core. u may be able to in a way say they also have a touch of napalm death's progressive style much like discordance axis. however they sound more metallic than DA. they have four albums. the first is more grindy and more typical of grind core but original (inhale/exhale.) the 2nd has a very progressive sound. the 3rd and 4th r very easy to get into and r extremely melodic for grind. also i heard there is a whole swedish grind core scene. do u know anything about this?? (i guess if u did u would have definately heard nasum. it would be like knowing about thrash without having heard metallica or slayer.) they do have a video on yahoo videos from the nu album. u can download some songs at their site:
i feel since u r a frequent editor of the grindcore article it is essential u listen to these 2 bands. i am not saying they r as influential or as important as napalm death or carcass or brutal truth but they r important in the future of grindcore and its progression. (well maybe it is a mistatement as nasum and DA r i think no longer making any new cds.) if u have any questions email me at sanjayadhia@yahoo.com . u can chat as well with me as i want to know more about mathcore and noisecore. also if u r interested check out my edits to the death metal article. (there was no mention of florida and NY death metal!!) i would like some feed back. thanks again for ur time.

You editted Dark Throne, do you play?
If so, could you let me know on either my talk page, by adding yourself to the Category:Wikipedians who play Dark Throne category, or both? Thanks!

Unspecified source for Image:SmashingPumpkins-MCISera.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:SmashingPumpkins-MCISera.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jkelly 17:25, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- This picture is totally legit to use, we just need to find out where you got it from. Can you let us know ASAP? That way they are not deleted, and we can keep them on The Smashing Pumpkins page. Thanks. -- Reaper X 16:33, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
Image:StrappingYoungLad.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:StrappingYoungLad.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok ☠ 19:17, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationales
No problem. It's easy for me to do using AWB, so I don't mind finishing up the Smashing Pumpkins covers. If there are more in your upload log that the bot hasn't tagged yet, you can go ahead and tag those preemptively. --Strangerer (Talk) 07:46, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Nazxul.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Nazxul.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 07:30, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Zeitgeist
Hey, I know what you're saying. But the way it was worded puts the blame on Corgan where it probably rests with either Corgan AND Chamberlin (who have jointly decided to record under the name alone) or James and D'arcy for not rejoining (assuming the listener puts a great deal of stock in the liner notes above the actual music, which seems to happen a lot). Anyways, whatever. I'm just sick of people criticizing the album because of who is not on it. Why not criticize what IS on it? It's not like that's much harder! -Werideatdusk33 04:47, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:SuperjointRitual-UseOnceandDestroy.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:SuperjointRitual-UseOnceandDestroy.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ElinorD (talk) 15:38, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Image:SuperjointRitual-LethalDose.jpg
I have tagged Image:SuperjointRitual-LethalDose.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. ElinorD (talk) 15:41, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Reverts.
When you revert a legitimate edit, do not use the blanket edit summary-- explain why you're reverting it --Lucid 01:34, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- I *did* explain, I said "Nope." Though I shall continue, that information is obviously public knowledge. The man is a celebrity and has discussed his family members on his show. The information was not added by a stalker. The KZA 02:18, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- Nope is not an explanation. Please see WP:CIV, and after you are done with that and understand it, leave a post on the talk page saying why it's encyclopedic or relevant to the article, as you should in the edit summary. Simply disagreeing is not a suitable reason to blanket revert --Lucid 02:29, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Sorry about the thing on MGS4. Let's just say I'm one of those who are so fed up with the edit wars on XBox 360 availability, voice casting, and the blanking-and-replaced-with-nonsence edits, especially those made by GuffWave. I've asked Hyperspacey to consider locking it up, hasn't replied yet. Eaglestorm 05:06, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
