Have you asked User:Keenan Pepper, the person who deleted it? It was an uncontested PROD. Someone (else) thought the film was non-notable. No-one disagreed. Another admin (Keenan) obviously agreed and deleted it per policy. And please sign your posts. The JPStalk to me 11:14, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Hello JPS, I have recently been attempting to significantly improve the One Foot in the Grave page, and I noticed that you have been involved with the page in the past. Hi Bob. Yes, I see you've been doing some work. I like how you've given the episode list its own page. I'll take a look at it sometime, though it seems to be pretty comprehensive. Hi - can you point me at somewhere that says why this user was blocked? I ask because another user has joined the EastEnders project called AnemoneProjectors. He only started contributing after the above user was banned, is suspiciously good at editing (suggesting he's edited before) and contributes to a similar set of articles (not just on EastEnders). I don't know whether he is another sockpuppet of this "JamieAdams" user, but I'd like to investigate (or someone else should)... Stephenb (Talk) 17:27, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed you have warned me on my talk page. I feel this is totally unwarrented. As you have found out, the evidence is conclusive that Sweetiepetie is a sockpuppet of JamieAdams, so I really don't see why you have decided that I deserve a warning for stressing this point and ensuring that a dangerous and damaging user isn't unblocked. Of course, we know that he is a personal friend of yours, and we can all see his glowing recomendation for you to be handed the mop. Are you sure you aren't getting your personal feelings in the way? No offence meant, I know we share the focus on the best interests of wikipedia.

Thanks for your message. I was concerned about rhetoric such as "evil". There are a couple of labels in your above post ("dangerous and damaging") that should not be used on Wikipedia. My understanding is that the user was blocked for legal reasons. Continuing hyperbole seems hypercritical. No, I do not have any persoanl feelings. He was one of 92 others who supported my RfA. Hello, JPS. I really want to ask you something that is about image. Since yesterday, I have decided to put another picture of Cesar Chavez on the article Cesar Chavez in the article. Because I found the other picture of Cesar Chavez on the internet yesterday. But, I don't know how to put the pictures in article. What kinds of picture don't they accept? Should I provide the adress of picture in Wikipedia? I didin't decide to put any pictures in article cause it will be considered vandalism. The Inglehurst School is highlighted only as the source of the development of this personalised learning tool. Learning journals or thinking books have an established history and the learning logs do not represent original research but are an extension of the concept, moving away from sequential textual presentation of information to a more visually based mapping style of presentation.

The concept and usage has since spread nationally and internationally to (at least) Australia and Canada. I have removed extraneous references to the school now, leaving one only as a reference point for the development source. Some editing support would be welcomed if that was thought to be necessary to improve the entry.

In the UK Dfes are about to publish a reference guide to personalised learning which will promote the learning logs and give some prominence to this concept as it appears to them to be unique in the uk Learninglogs 19:22, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

If you think I am going then you have another thing coming. I am not going to insult you but if my message seems harsh then good! Listen JPS I don't want to argue with you but I realise you have been hunting me ever since you noticed my first copyright violation and haven't stopped. Why do you always continously place warnings on my pages. JUST LEAVE ME ALONE. I tried to get my images deleted by placing {{db-author}} in the image page and they got deleted. What more do you want? The image Image:Bipasha Basu is a SCREENSHOT of a film called No Entry in case you bothered to read the source page so a screenshot is fair use because NO ENTRY is a movie. Also when you get the time see those images in EastEnders I uploaded and see that a fair use rationale has been added to some of them. It takes a lot of time to actually find images and correct them OK. I have also noticed you are a friend of the User:Gungadin. why is she being let off for copyright violation and I don't. THERE ARE STILL IMAGES IN EASTENDERS uploaded by her that are violations and have not been tagged as violations. Also User:Trampikey has done uploading too. If you are not so busy picking on me then you can concentrate on these users more. Other users' violations is not an excuse to commit violations yourself. As I have said before, please bring specific images to me if you think they need correcting.
I have not "hounded" of "picked on" you. It has been a couple of weeks since I warned you about these. I certainly don't want you to stop editing. I just want you to adhere to our policies.

How childish! Instead of trying to be malicious to other users Shakirfan, why dont you do something constructive i.e. ask JPS what you are doing wrong and how to go about making your images acceptable for Wikipedia. I have been warned sevral times in the past for uploading unsuitable images, so I resent this accusation of favouritism. since this time I have only uplaoded screenshots, which have all ben tagged corectly because I sought help from JPS on how to do this. I suggest you do the same. By the way, if you do see any images that I uplaod which have infringed copyright, then please let me know and I will remove them. Hi...just want to be sure I follow the appropriate criteria in the quickest manner. Most of what I possess are studio prints distributed for the promotion of their various titles. Some state right on them that they are licensed for promotional use...others do not. I try to only use what would be considered integral to bringing the piece to life. OK, if you add [[:Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg]] to the image description page of the images this applies to, there's a better chance of these surviving. Thanks for your comments. Yes, I am learning and am finally finding the time and knowledge to roam around and clean up a few things. And, yes, I don't mean to be a constant "uploader", it's just that there a few projects I fell strongly about. I must admit I'm still having a hard time finding the proper text for the fair-usage; I'm looking at policy and trying to find examples, but can't see the tree for the forest.

Also, I have a problem with this EBENEZER (TV) page that was deleted on me. Can I burdon you to hear it out--I can't get to the right page to list it for comment. Is there a shortcut--a URL--or some way to get me there; I'm going around in cicles.

Well, a page was deleted. I'm accussed of lifting it from Amazon.com. Well, I wrote both pieces. They were NOT exact copies. One was an article and one was a review. In fact, the article time stamp was BEFORE the Amazon.com time stamp.

In any event, if I was contacted FIRST, I would have eliminated the Amazon.com page in order to save the page here. That's what bothers me.

Are you in a position to review this and maybe re-instate the page?

Whether you are the person who wrote the amazon review is of no consequence, since the amazon information is copyrighted to amazon and we cannot use it. I can remember tagging that article because the tone was clearly inappropriate. Perhaps Zoe should have tagged is as a copyright problem before deleting it. But then after she removed the 'review' she may have decided to delete it under WP:CSD A3 (as no context) -- a valid decision. Zoe was possibly a little harsh in deleting it straight away -- but I can still see and understand why it has been. I wouldn't advise taking it further because you don't have a good grasp yet of policy to argue your case propery. Also, it's just an article about a TV movie. Nothing serious. Perhaps if you were prepared to write a proper article you could do so under a correct name, such as Ebenezer (TV film)? Zoe is also correct in her comments about copyright and ownership. Like Wikipedia, once you submit your text to a site, you lose ownership. The JPStalk to me 09:08, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Additionally, before taking it to requests for comment (which is inflicting work upon a lot of other wikipedians), it is usually best to persue the issue with the relevant parties (i.e. Zoe). RFC is usually a last resort when communication has broken down. I notice there were only a couple of exchanges between Zoe and yourself -- why did you decide to leave teh conversation and involve Feydey and myself? Thanks for answering; I get so frustrated when people write things off--"It was only a TV movie." It must have meant something to somebody to produce the thing. What frustrates me more is that I did try to comply. The piece was almost entirely rewritten when its npov was questioned.

One of the main strengths that attracted me to Wikipedia when doing searches on the internet was its ability to provide information on what could best be described as obscure or hard-to-locate topics/subjects that could not be found anywhere else on the internet. The ability to constantly revise and include new information in a collaborative method can grow a topic here to a wealth of information.

Anyway, you've been most patient and kind with me so far (except when I make the same mistake twice!!!) and this has been my first of what can best be described as a bad experience.

I questioned Zoe about this (see above), but never did receive a reply. As I have a tendency to make matters worse, I didn't want to confront Zoe more and just make matters worse. All I'd like to do is see the page restored.

If you were to go back and look at it when it was pulled, I think you would find it perfectly acceptable--all I would have to do is go and pull the Amazon.com piece if that's what it takes.

Something scneed in is the same as uploading stuff from theinterenet. It's worse, in fact, as we can't verify the source or the copyright status. I assume that when you say "own", you actually mean "possess"? How is anyone supposed to verify the status or source of something that's sitting in your home? This is not a screenshot. It is a still -- and it does not have a source.
As such, doesn't it then fit the description as a "title card" and I cannot find a single movie photo (say, like on the Harry Potter pages) that lists a "source".

I think I'm following you a bit better here--your fine line between such things as still and screenshot through me off.

It's source that's confusing me. "Source: I made it myself." This I found on one of the Wiki pages. I didn't make that up. It's meant to say made the still, not the video. If you wanted to continue it to the finest level--which video, etc. I can do that.

I hope I'm making progress here.

Hi, regarding AFW....It is written with heavy parody, which can easily be changed.

Would that make it acceptable?

I think its place on Wikipedia is necessary, as it represents an entirely original online concept. Also, the membership runs into the thousands...so it is not an insignificant community.

What do you think?

[edit] Problem with 3RR

Hi, JPS - there is a little bit of a problem over at Jeremy Clarkson. An IP address is repeatedly adding the same POV comment, and is being reverted each time by numerous editors. It has been requested several times that the user discuss this change on the talk page, as it is clearly controversial, but it is simply re-added each time. A few warnings were added to one of the user's talk pages, but the IP seems to keep changing, as well as appearing with two different user accounts, although they are presumably the same person. Several editors have expressed concern about breaching the 3 revert rule. I was wondering what should be done. Thanks in advance. Bob 15:26, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

It is very odd that the reference to Jeremy's Sunday Times article of July 2nd keeps being removed. In the section called 'FOREIGNERS' the paragraph leads ignorant encyclopedia readers to believe that YOU HAVE TO SHOW A PASSPORT to buy a drink in the USA and that MACHINE GUNS are legal. What is wrong with you people? How can you accuse direct quotes of being POV and then LIE to and MISLEAD people about what's going on in America? What kind of political agenda is that? What you're doing is 100 times worse then POV. The paragraph was DIRECT pastes from Jeremy's article. Seems you are willing to LIE about the USA but you call direct quotes POV. I'm so confused. I think that more people need to monitor this page because you people are blowing it. Your political agenda seems to thrive on mis-information and then when you're found out you hide, cover up and smirk. It must be dire.

What is my political agenda? To make sure that people know that what Jeremy said is untrue. The guys who you are siding with have even edited Jeremy's own words.

This TheJPS is a complete weasel. I'm the one that was having the 'discussion' with him. It was like talking to a 14 year old girl. How do they find these 'administrators'? Incredible arrogance. Would you really go as far to say that Basil is a misanthrope? I don't believe he actually hates the human race as a whole, just general types of people, he has affinities for certain types of people: Lord Melbury (until he finds out his real identity), the blonde australian woman, Mrs. Peignoir, doctors, certain types of politicians. The IP wasn't reverting because they'd thought about it: they were going through my contributions and reverting me for the sake of reverting. The word has been used to descibe him in 35 papers I marked last month. I, however, don't care enough to argue/think about this, so whatever. It was deleted by community consensus at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Widget. It was then speedily deleted under G4 (reposted content after previous deletion) and then again under a7 (not notable). That's OK -- I'm always keen to help people, but it becomes difficult to assume good faith when you have told them the same thing three times! Now, you need to add a detailed fair use rationale for the images you have uploaded. I created this page specifically to help novices. Hi there. I also have a question about a supposed fair use image. The picture is Image:Body everywhere.jpg

According to the information on the link, the picture is still in copyright. However the link provided gives no information on the copyright, nor is there any justification on the image link or the wikipedia page for the image as to why it is fair use (according to the tag used). It is being used to try to depict events of the Nanking Massacre, yet there is no evidence that it is what the captions says it is. So I think this cannot show a historical event in terms of the fair use, as we cannot be sure it was taken either at the time or location it supposedly was from.

I would contact the uploader, but he has been inactive for a long time so there's no point. I have had no responses on other image problems that I notified him of.

So can you please tell me how I should suggest it for deletion? I was thinking about one of the "automatic tags", where there isn't copyright or proper source information. Could I use the "unknown|day=|month=" tag? Is there a different automatic tag I should use? Or should I use a slightly longer manual technique. Your help would be appreciated - thanks! Hi JPS, can I get your advice on something? Several of the images I have uploaded have been tagged by a user for not providing a source, such as Image:Nikki Ziering Cli.jpg. That one is orphaned anyway so it makes no difference to me if it's deleted, but I don't understand how I can provide a source for a screenshot that has been taken from my own PC. I have already stated on the description page that it has been taken from the television show etc. and I thought that that was the source. I have not had to provide a URL for such images in the past, none exist anyway. Oh, I see you put the source in the edit summary (which I didn't spot -- sorry), but you didn't put it on the image description page, and you didn't provide a fair use rationale!! Trouble is, where is the evidence that it can be reused? The copyright status needs to be verifiable. For this reason, so called "promotional" images need to come from a section of a website clearly labelled 'press kit'. Otherwise, just about anything can be slapped 'promo'! [edit] Some talk on images (again)

As a fellow new images patrol officer i'd ask about the images from indiaglitz.com (like Image:Bhageeradha-220905 11.jpg) that are always watermarked with huge writing, twice. I was thinking about raising a question in some appropriate place about them, like, are they really screenshots, and are they acceptable (with that watermarking) to Wikipedia. Just i'd like to have You opinion on this issue...? P.S. This page is 50 kilobytes long - time to archive? Best, feydey 21:47, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

If it is a genuine screenshot, those huge watermarks make it llok pretty unproffessional for us to use. It looks a little posed to be a screenshot, yet it seems to be the right aspect ratio. The two characters seem to be stuck onto a new background (the edges of their bodies is a bit unnatural). Let's see if they die naturally (orphan, no source...) -- if not, we'll go for them -- Wikipedia:Media copyright questions seems the most obvious route. The JPStalk to me 08:20, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
