Carly Colón

Hey Hybrid, I am going to give Carlito a second try at GAC, but I need some help. I was thinking that perhaps we could work with separate parts of it and do some Out of Universe rewriting, besides that I am going to use wwe.com to replace the references in the parts of the text that work inside kayfabe to avoid any more complaints of "unreliable sources," wich was the main argument to fail the GAC, so are you interested in helping me when taking this challenge? - 22:25, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

Great, I already started rewritting the "2006" section wich seemed like the longest one in the article, when I finish with it I will post in on my Sandbox so you can get an idea of what I believe we should do in the rewritting part. - 20:27, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Done, the section is on my Sandbox, this is only the part involving the text, so some links and fixes are due not to mention some typos since I have a tendency to type to fast to check for them, I think the references can be added after the whole text is done though I personally think that writting a page about a real peson in Out of Universe fashion is ridiculous, but as long as it can pass GAC I'm willing to deal with these unusual circuntances. So what do you think about it? - 02:18, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Ill

Leave it but only because I know its not true and justice will be served.McBane420 04:28, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey Hybrid if its not much to ask can you please revert this vandal's edit on Ricky Banderas? I have already reverted it twice and I don't want people saying I'm edit warring, cheers. - 04:30, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Hybrid im asking you nicely to check this situation first. He refuses to follow the wrestling project guidelines and i fell he is vandalising my page and trying to get me banned.McBane420 04:33, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

A {{3RR}} template is not vandalism, its a way to let you know you should stop, I will pay you if you can provide a diff where I am vandalizing your user page. - 04:36, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

McBane, look over that welcome template that I gave you. Learn the policies, obey them, live them. Let the spirit of the Supreme Cabal Regime of Wikipedia flow through you. Open your heart, and become one with the wiki. Join us, McBane. Join us, The Hybrid 04:39, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

He is the only one lying. He refuses to discuss things and even know he has you on his side. Ill leave the page alone I dont care if it doesnt meet wikipedia standards anymore as this site has obviously become politics and bullshit.McBane420 04:41, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Re

No worries lets forget this guy and go back to Carlito, did you see the rewritten section on my sandbox yet? - 04:45, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Ok, wow I must admit that I don't believe I was enforcing the burocratic side of Wikipedia back there I always though my best comes out of the social aspect of it, oh well... - 04:50, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Great, I will tackle "2005" next and try to have it ready around noon, we will have it as a GA in no time if we keep it up. - 05:01, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
If you want maybe you can go ahead and look for the results of past RAW editions in wwe.com to source it, no reference can be more reliable to source the results of his matches than the official source right? there will be no complaints about reliability now. You also did a great job in the fixes you did to the section so you get a coquí (yes I still hate frogs ;) - 05:12, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Reply

I'm not angry at you, I was angry at the situation, so it's fine. I'm still not so sure about one thing (I emailed you about it a little bit ago). Now that this is settled (hopefully), I'm going to be on wrestling wiki more. It needs work, but in time it will be the best (or one of the better wrestling wiki's out there) in my opinion. Hey, check out my sandbox I finished rewritting the remaining WWE section, sorry it took a lot longer than expected I wasn't active yesterday since I received a surprise visit. I can't recall if Carlos' injury in 2004 was real or not so I labeled it as "legitimate" for now, if it was kayfabe its just a mather or replacing that with "storyline", cheers. - 20:09, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Ok then, I will finish rewrittin the remaining part tommorow and then we can work with the refs, cheers. - 01:27, 26 July 2007 (UTC)~

WrestleMania III

Its that time of the year again. More IPs adding Meltzer's number on the page. Could you help me watch it?-- bulletproof 3:16 22:59, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

I'm finally done rewritting Carlos' page, do you know a copy-editor? I would like someone to do a outside check to the page to see if we missed something, after all there is a huge difference between Colón and Colon, I referenced the WWE section almost entirely but there are no wwe references before 2005, as a result of the webpage's makeover I guess. As a side note, do you have The greatest families in wrestling dvd? I think if we could get it we can expand the 'Personal information' section a little. - 23:40, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
Ok then, although we can probably source the remaining 2004 section, file a GAC, and while the article is at GAC add it to the GAC-GAR section of the WP:LOCE, I haven't been exactly satisfied with Peer Reviews in the past especially lately with all that backlog. - 02:13, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Hey you did help, especially fixing the grammar. I will source it tommorow, hopefully the internet archive has something usefull, well got to go I have to go to bed early to get up in time for the Pan American Games' basketball final, they say its at 11:00 am but that's Brazil's hour so chances are its around 9:00 am in Orlando, see you tommorow. - 02:23, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

The Undertaker

Yes, but I wouldn't consider it under WP:CRSTAL. It's not like we're guessing, or assuming he'll come back because of certain sequence of events that are happening, ie; lights going out, or return promos. It HAS been confirmed on WWE.com. As far as if a family emergency shows up, that really wouldn't make sense, seen as every PPV we announce new matches that have been confirmed via WWE TV or WWE.com. If an emergency comes up like as Chris Benoits did (RIP) then that would set us in the same predicament. I won't alter it again until I get consent form other users, seen as I don't want to get blocked for 3RR like a little someone we've come to know. But, please explain to me with valid reasons why we shouldn't add it. Thanks. Bye now. -- KBW1 06:09, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Out of curiousity..

Would you say that as far as user pages go people find, modify and use pre-existing templates or code their own? Weird question, but.. Th 2005 20:38, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Ah, I see. I suppose I'll wait around until I find a userpage that I like enough to copy and mess with. Say thankya. Th 2005 20:49, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

As an addenendum, do you not ever get irritated with people who insist on adding title changes, etc. to wrestling related articles (most usually TNA and WWE) before it's aired? I thought the policy was to not change that sort of thing until.. the episode in question.. has been aired. At first it annoyed me a little and I just went through reverting it, but it gets so bloody irritating to revert something based on spoiler policies only to come back five minutes later and find my revert reverted. >_< Th 2005 22:06, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Oh wow. That is quite helpful. Th 2005 01:26, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

WWE Armageddon

OK, will do. Davnel03 14:27, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Right there's a problem with the source Mshake3 provided, which is here. The event this year is not a the Richmond Collesium. If you notice it's both 2006/2007 PPV schedule. Under Armageddon for 2006 it has Richmond Coliseum but for 2007 (scroll further down) it says TBA. Also, the source doesn't have December to Dismember on it for 2006. I suggest the source is removed as it is completely out of date. If you chose not to, you should still change 2007's Armageddon to TBA. Thanks, Davnel03 16:05, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

I've got my eyes peeled too. Just cause I don't heavily edit and help the project in the way I used too, doesn't mean I'm not lurking in the shadows, still making sure everything is okay. Random Thought

Is it just me...or is Snitsky and his stupid new gimmick totally not getting over? Bmg916Speak 01:54, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure what I'd rather see, Snitsky...or Chuck Palumbo taking the Master Lock challenge (it's a good thing I somehow managed to get box seats for the SmackDown taping last week when this occured, I didn't feel like fighting the entire arena to get to the bathroom...) Bmg916Speak 01:59, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
True, Palumbo could be entertaining if used properly. Snitsky, on the other hand couldn't entertain me even if (insert your own joke here). He should be buried, not necessarily fired. Or they could make him the "monster" on Heat. "Their pain is my pleasure.......is this getting over yet? anybody? *crickets chirp* Bmg916Speak 02:10, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
Also true, and Hornswoggle is actually very entertaining. I'm glad he showed up at least for a second last week, because in all honesty is was one of the worst shows I have ever been too. Just awful. Snitsky should be a jobber, nothing more. He's as terrible a wrestler as Batista, and I don't think it's coincidence they trained together (with all due respect to Afa). Bmg916Speak 02:23, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
The arena wouldn't stop chanting "we want the midget" all night...granted not very politically correct, but I think he's hysterical. Bmg916Speak 02:31, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
I was among those chanting it, I'm not much for censorship myself, but its hard to tell who would be offended and who wouldn't these days, that's why I added the pc part. I would love to watch him hit a few moves on Noble myself, then maybe another pie in the face. Hornswoggle for WWE Champion! Bmg916Speak 02:38, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

If Hornswoggle became World Heavyweight Champion, I would watch SmackDown! religiously, and SmackDown hasn't been a very good show lately at all. Bmg916Speak 02:44, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

It would take the luck of the irish for WWE to realize the big money in that sort of program *sigh* Bmg916Speak 02:48, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

They will never shape up, too much politics backstage, the business is in a shitty state (compared to the Golden Era's) I don't think it will ever be able to recover from Bmg916Speak 02:59, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Spoiler tags

SIGH. What do we seriously do to make other Wikipedians realise about this? Because soem of them obviously have no clear. I feel like I shouldn't of gotten the outter community involved because it's now turning into a battlefield, us versus them. If the situation deterioates, I'm outta here for a few days. Thanks, Davnel03 08:22, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Yep, although I think at least something or someone is almost certainly going to try and make a further dispute over it. There are a certain group of Wikipedians that don't care that we have to avoid certain articles, yet some people (not assosiated with WP:PW) realise what we have to avoid every so often. At the moment, at least for the past 5-6 weeks, spoilers have come in a conversation on the talkpage virtually every week, which needs to stop. We'll have to wait and see. Davnel03 08:54, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
I think it's not going to turn out well no matter what. I (unfortunately) think it's just going to get even worse. It's a good job I didn't pull it into the mainspace a few days ago, otherwise (as someone said yesterday) it could of gone to ArbCom. Well, it better not go to ArbCom, I'll say that now. Davnel03 09:04, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
You're right, this project will not be able to recover if it goes to ArbCom, and will effictively drive users out of Wikipedia for the forseeable future. I don't know how they decide if anyone gets blocked because of it. If they do block people, my block log doesn't tell a nice story. I hope it doesn't go there, otherwise I might be heading for the exit and a hefty block, which as I said better not happen. Let's see what happened over the next 24/36 hours. Thanks, Davnel03 09:18, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Life's OK outside of Wiki, nothing much happening. See ya! Davnel03 09:33, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Well, the "there's no comprise" dispute has began. That never took long. Davnel03 09:38, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
One user involved in dispute has changed one of our templates (future PW template). Should I revert? It also seems like others think it could get nasty also. Davnel03 11:12, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

He's left a comment on the template talkpage explaining his reasoning. I have no intention of dealing with him, because I will just flip (as I have done in the past); which in turn could get me blocked. :( Davnel03 11:21, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

He is now causing major disruption. He has redirected the voting booth page to the talkpage. I suggest you revert the edit. He calls it on the voting booth MFD page being bold. Revert as necessary if you wish. I've reverted the edit. Davnel03 13:13, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

re:Question

Not to worry, I love getting into violent disputes :) but I would rather sit this one out, I don't have the energy to start another. In regards to spoilers, my opinions are this:

  • Verifible and reliable sources shouldn't be discouraged as some editors mentioned, as it has been long established we shouldn't.
  • Consensus was established sometime before/slightly after I joined Wikipedia (at the Pro Wrestling WikiProject) to exclude spoilers as they could potentially give away endings to tapings and to be taken seriously we should revert the spoilers and not turn off the pro wrestling community who dislikes spoilers.
  • After thinking to myself looking at the debate, I really can't see why information that is verifiable and reliable should be reverted except the reason cited above, and I can't think of similar circumstances to any other kind of spoiler (except die-hard Harry Potter fans who haven't finished the book yet, they get annoyed fast with spoilers)
  • Whatever compromise comes to a draw there, I am willing to "enforce", as I can't decide whether removing them is for the better of Wikipedia or not.

Cheers! — Moe ε 10:14, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

All of which we have warned him to read WP:CIVIL, WP:CRYSTAL, WP:PW, and he still deliberetly denies to follow the rules. Please try to work with or I will request that he gets blocked. BTW where do I report him? Thank You -- KBW1 16:47, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Hybrid, I started a discussion at Administrators Notice Board. - KBW1 01:34, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Are you ready?

I said I'd check with you around now (Aug/Sep) to see if you were ready to go for WP:RFA. Anynobody 04:04, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Your going to request to become an administrator? Way to go! I'll vote for you, because you deserve it. :) KBW1 05:16, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Ouch!

I can relate to that, four years ago I teared my patela completely off my knee, so I wish you a fast recovey, thanks on the congrats also, and I wish the best for your family members involved in that accident. - Caribbean~H.Q. 04:08, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Hope your recovering well. Thanks for the smile. :) On that note, I've been doing a bit of major work while you've been off Wiki. Davnel03 06:56, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Yes thanks for the smile :) Aside from my elected carpal tunnel and various oral/dental surgies, I've been lucky enough to have only broken a couple toes and had some severe whiplash so far *knock on my head wood.* May your recovery go smoothly and Wiki benefit from your incapacitatedness in the meantime, or something ;) --Naha|(talk) 14:31, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Welcome back

The circumstances of your return are indeed unfortunate, but irregardless of that, it is good to have you back. You're one of the cornerstones of the Wrestling Wikiproject, in my opinion.

In any case, I hope you and your family members come out of this alright. Gavyn Sykes 18:12, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Stay strong dude, its good to have you back. Atomic Religione 18:21, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Dwayne Johnson to The Rock

Hey Hybrid, I started a survey at Talk:Dwayne Johnson‎ and requested that Dwayne Johnson be moved to The Rock. Feel free to express your opinion at the talk page. Thanks! -- KBW1 04:17, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Done, the guideline is pretty clear I am surprised his birth name was being used. - Caribbean~H.Q. 05:03, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
I removed your comment, seeing as it has no significants towards the matter. Just in case your "friend" can't get us to change it, we'll have this to fall back on as proof. Thanks. -- KBW1 05:04, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Alright, thanks. What if certain users want to change the name back? -- KBW1 05:06, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Meaning? -- KBW1 05:08, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Yup I had already deleted the page and was preparing to move it for some reason the redirect had a talk page and that is the reason it wasn't moved originally. - Caribbean~H.Q. 05:11, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Alright, thanks for the help. Much of us preferred The Rock over Dwayne Johnson. -- KBW1 05:14, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Your very welcome :) -- KBW1 07:11, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Well, WWE did announce when they cancelled December to Dismember 2007 (in their annual conference call to investors and on their corporate website). BTW, what are you on painkillers for? TJ Spyke 04:07, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

PWI

PWI is, IMO, "regarded as trustworthy or authoritative in relation to the subject at hand." Considering how little actual news site know regarding pro wrestling, I"m surprised this one isn't used more often. Mshake3 22:24, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
