[edit] License tagging for Image:1728.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:1728.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 12:04, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image tagging for Image:Dondon.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Dondon.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. [edit] Your Philippine Idol images.

Are sure you made them from free (non-copyrighted) sources? If you copied them from a website they're copyrighted, ineligible for {{GFDL}} and will be listed at Possibly unfree images. If you made them from copyrighted material, they're not fair use and they will be listed at Images for deletion. --Howard the Duck 11:54, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:JeliMateo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:JeliMateo.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Gamaliel 18:11, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Biographical articles

You may want to have a look at WP:BIO. Just being a game show contestant isn't much of a claim to fame. I'd recommend against creating articles on these folks, unless there's something verifiable to be said about them other than that they participated in the show. Participants names could be included, if relevant, in the main article. Friday (talk) 18:36, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:AppleChiu.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:AppleChiu.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Howard the Duck 08:20, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:PowChavez.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:PowChavez.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ~ BigrTex 05:33, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

These three images have also been tagged for the same reason:

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Gianmagdangal.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Gianmagdangal.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. -- SteinbDJ · talk · contributions 13:00, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Duplicate images uploaded

Thanks for uploading Image:Gianmagdangalgma.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you uploaded the same image twice: as Image:Gianmagdangalgma.jpg and also as Image:Gianmagdangal.jpg. The latter copy of the file has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and remember exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 06:17, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kobe Bryant

Hey. I reverted some of your edits per Wikipedia's policies regarding fancruft and it's Manual Style of Editing. Hope you're not too angry about this. The article has become a haven for fans and it's been tagged as a Fan Site before, which is why we're trying to maintain it as encyclopedic as possible. I added your quotes to Wikiquotes, here. Thanks for your edits and contributions =) Zodiiak 17:50, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
