[edit] Editor's talk

Here's to give you a welcome into the project! Looking forward to seeing your contributions. :) ~ Maximilli, 19:16, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! The Editor 2 20:52, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

No prob. By the way, what marker are you looking to get? ~ Maximilli, 20:21, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

A Tippy 98C, with a BE Tiger Shark as backup, in case some odd thing happens to my 98, which isn't likely. I'll probably be playing almost exclusively woodsball. BTW, can I steal some of your userboxes? :D

The Editor 2 21:41, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Nice choice. Are you thinking of any aftermarket mods? For a barrel, I'd recommend a Stiffi. I've seen a lot of barrels, and the Stiffi pwns them all. About the userboxes, go right ahead! I'm planning on creating a couple more paintball ones to suit people who aren't woodsballers. Or Specialists. Come to think of it, what are you intending for your position? ~ Maximilli, 21:44, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

I got a package of stuff of ebay, and included is a 16" JJ barrel. I haven't really given much thought to position.... Mostly, I think, I'll be playing in small groups with friends.

The Editor 2 21:53, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Okay, so you'll be playing basic rec-ball. You're going to have a lot of fun. ~ Maximilli, 22:31, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Yahoo! My gun package just arrived! As it's used, directions for field stripping weren't included, so I have to go print them out now. The Editor 2 23:36, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Sweet. D'ye like it? ~ Maximilli, 17:00, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes, thank you. As soon as I get a chance to get to the local fill place, I'll test it. (and from my first sentence, you though I already had tested it =) ) I forgot to read the manual before I stripped it, so I learned first-hand how to re-assemble some of the more internal parts. Stupid me. :-) The Editor 2 23:01, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Sounds good. Yeah, when I first got my M98C, I dismantled it immediately. Lucky for me, though, I had the manual on hand for when I was trying to put it back together. :D Dang, that was years ago now!
When are you going to play your first game? ~ Maximilli, 23:37, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

That's funny, I thought I had posted a response.... Oh well. Well, it would be next time a friend organized one, but I think that my brother is going to get one going soon.

You probably have realized that I haven't been editing at all recently, that will change soon. A lot of things that were making me really busy just ended, (although things will be heating up again soon, darn it!) so I should be able to do something. The Editor 2 23:05, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject Paintball News edit
  • The term "paintball gun" is no longer to be used in any article: please change this wherever you see it! We must use the term paintball marker at all times from here on out. Keep up the good work. RavenStorm, Lead Coordinator
  • It has been strongly suggested by fellow member Three ways round that we add references and sources to our articles and make this our priority for now, as expansion and addition of articles has been slow of late. Go find an unsourced article and get some good references! Together we can make the WikiProject Paintball more authentic and encyclopedic. RavenStorm, Lead Coordinator

Category News edit
  • The player positions pages have been renamed according to game type to be more accurate.
  • Two more subcategories have been created: Woodsball, and Speedball. If any new pages are created that are related to these, please use their respective category tags instead of [[Category:Paintball]]. Thanks!

Priority Tasks edit
To continue the project's drive toward FA status for the Paintball article, please review the project news and spend some time going over the article.
Sources: Articles such as Glossary of paintball terms have been tagged for not citing sources. Be sure to check around for more of these articles, and see if we can find some resources that can validate our information.
Current priority: The Paintball variations article needs to be synchronized with all other articles that mention variants of paintball games or paintball game types. Remember, to be consistent, that 'variants' are variants such as CTF, while 'game types' are woodsball, speedball, et cetera.
