[edit] The protocol in action

Please see Daryn Jones (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs) ... the talk page has my comments on how this article has improved after being flagged. :-) Happy Editing! —72.75.72.63 (talk · contribs) 23:01, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Changes to 3rd Step

I have modified the 3rd Step to include adding and updating the {{Oldprodfull}} template on the article's talk page if you decide to PROD, 2nd a PROD, or decline a PROD ... see Talk:Winifred Freedman for an example. — 72.75.72.63 (talk · contribs) 02:54, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Too bureaucratic

Too many steps, I don't want to have to go through all of that just to put a db-bio on a page. Corvus cornixtalk 16:51, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Well, that's kind of the point ... flag it one day, and then wait to see if it is really unredeemable ... it's mostly intended for dealing with newbies, and a lot of it is "consciousness raising" ... I've also tried to make it useful for inclusionists to use in flagging articles that need improvement ... there's really only four steps:
  1. Flag the article.
  2. Flag the editor.
  3. Wait a while and either (a) tag it for deletion, or else (b) "put some lipstick on the pig".
  4. MOVE ON
I hate administrative procedures, too, which is why I've tried to make this both intuitive and flexible, with the "checklists" and stencil boilerplates so that I can just copy&paste very quickly ... thnx fer the feedback! — 72.75.72.63 (talk) 17:53, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
