[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:C&C3logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:C&C3logo.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

  • I fixed this image for you, so the photo will not deleted. On an unrelated note, I checked out the page User:The B and found that that user name has not been taken; therefore if you wish you can ask that your wikipedia account be transfered so that you can assume the user name "The B". Thought you might like to know ;) TomStar81 05:25, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Ah, well when I registered it said that "The B" was taken. How would I go about getting my account transferred? Thanks for the help with the image, by the way. Much appreciated! The_B 14:49, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
    • Item A) I am not entirely sure how one goes about transfereing a userpage account to a new page, but if you inquire about such a move at Wikipedia:User page they should be able to answer your questions. Item B) I usually fix a lot of images uploaded under the heading of "fair use". As long as a source is provided (like a website or something similar) and the image in question is being used then its really just a simple matter of adding a fair use rational. In any case, your welcome. TomStar81 21:13, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
Found it! Filing a request at Wikipedia:Changing username to ask for your account to be transfered to a new and unused user account is how one goes about changing his (or her, as the case may be) username. TomStar81 02:24, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Copyvio?

I have recently been removing a chain of copyvio episode summaries on the scrubs series and I came across My Friend the Doctor, which you created. However, the two main sites that seem to be the source of the copyvio, www.tv.com and www.scrubs-tv.com don't appear to be the source of the content on that page. Could you please clarify whether you created the episode summary there yourself or whether you found it from an outside source? Thanks. Cowman109Talk 18:42, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

I created the summary myself from watching the episode while writing most of it. The main reason I included the external links was to keep the particular page in line with the other exsisting episode articles. The_B 19:19, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
Ah, alright. Thanks for your help. Just so you know, there are now a few dozen episode pages without summaries since they were copy-and-paste jobs from those two websites, so the first three seasons are open to getting episode summaries if you're up to the task :). Thanks again. Cowman109Talk 19:21, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations

Greetings! After a long period of discussion and consensus building, the policy on usurping usernames has been approved, and a process has been set up to handle these requests. Since you listed yourself on Wikipedia:Changing username/Requests to usurp, you are being notified of the adopted process for completing your request.

If you are still interested in usurping a username, please review Wikipedia:Usurpation. If your request meets the criteria in the policy, please follow the process on Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations. Please note that strict adherence to the policy is required, so please read the instructions carefully, and ask any questions you may have on the talk page.

If you have decided you no longer wish to usurp a username, please disregard this message. Essjay (Talk) 12:46, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Amiina-05.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Amiina-05.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:41, 1 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 01:41, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Pcgamerukmay2007cover.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Pcgamerukmay2007cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 00:54, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks!

Hey, B! Thanks for catching my mistake in my edit to Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street! I was sort of in a hurry, so I put the exclamation marks in the wrong place, I guess. Once again, thanks; Mizu onna sango15/珊瑚15 02:36, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Ghostwatch2006site.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Ghostwatch2006site.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 19:39, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
