The "humster test" is a standard method for fertility asessments of human sperm.

A pub med search reveals the earliest publication for this test as:

The resulting hybrid is of course not viable and would never be able to develop further than the 100 cell stage (4 days post fertilization). The hybrid does however pose some interesting ethical problems for those that claim that human rights (human soul) starts at the moment of conception. Especially since the same set of people often claim that having a soul is what is distinguishing humans from animals.
