Hi, I realize this is an unorthodox way to contact someone, but I'm not well-versed in the best ways to contact someone over WikiPedia. I'm hoping you are monitoring your profile. I really like the image you uploaded on the Stabilizing Seleciton page to differentiate among the three thypes of selection. What was the source of this image? Any info you can provide me would be greatly appreciated. BevinT 21:53, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

I too would like to know the source of the image. It appears to be a direct copy of a chart from Postlethwait and Hopson's 'Modern Biology.' --Mrbaird2005 (talk) 18:52, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Gamecamppic1.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:04, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Selection Chart.PNG

Kudos! I intuitively liked it. Then I started to hate. Then I understood that I hadn't understood it and liked it even more. And no, I do know the types of selection, professionally ;-)
What I find non-intuitive is the layout. The pictures are very, VERY cool - cute and generic, as they ought toi be. But it's unusual to find what is essentially the x axis' "scale" to be above the graph, no?

Maybe it could be changed to:

  • make each a coordinate system (remove upper right half of frame, like so: |_ )
  • move pics below x-axis
  • rearrange: 1 3 on top, text in middle, 2 on bottom
  •  ?put bar graphs under each of the x-axis pics?

I think it might be easier to understand for ppl new to the subject. Dysmorodrepanis (talk) 19:49, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
