Some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Crafting Worlds may not be sufficiently well-known to merit articles of their own. The Wikipedia community welcomes newcomers, and encourages them to become Wikipedians. On Wikipedia, each user is entitled to a user page in which they can describe themselves, and this article's content may be incorporated into that page. However, to merit inclusion in the encyclopedia proper, a subject must be notable. We encourage you to write or improve articles on notable subjects.

I don't care what you own. I didn't put the copyvio message though. But Wikipedia is not the place to promote your pet project.

[edit] What you need to understand

As the person behind Crafting Worlds, you really shouldn't be creating the article. Case in point, only a few weeks ago, Paul Marino (as in the Paul Marino, of AMAS and other stuff), created an article on himself. It was created with good intentions, but even then, it was innapropriate for him to create.

The stuff you copied from your site, while your own, is hideously opinionated. Wikipedia is a place for facts. Of course, you can add to an article on your group, but you must write facts. And just because you are (supposedly) behind the first piece of WoW machinima doesn't necessarily mean anything. I remember back almost six years ago when Tritin Films released Quad God, which, while in purely video format (in contrast with Quake movies of the time), was the first movie made with Quake III. There's no article on them, and hopefully, there never will be, unless one is created for good reason. I created the Notable Groups section in the machinima article for the purpose of listing those groups that have had significant impact on the movement.

  • Strange Company are behind Machinima.com, which, as their head Hugh Hancock said in the Artery: Machinima telivision documentary a couple years or so back is the "premier portal on the Internet, for Machinima, if I do say so myself." And I agree with him.
  • The ILL Clan's early films were noted for their cartoonish style. In later years, they became famous for their live performances. Paul Marino, AKA ILL Robinson, has since become the founder and head of the Academy of Machinima Arts and Sciences.
  • Rooster Teeth Productions goes without saying. They've brought Machinima forward at least two or three years in terms of popularity. The have also popularised the idea of episodes, as opposed to longer, singular pieces.

I'f you look at the Machinima category any time soon, you'll see that a few groups have added their little projects there. Some are not even released yet. I'm going to deal with those. This is just like when people were adding their projects to the external links section of the machinima article. [edit] Crafting Worlds article

I the best policy would be for the article to be deleted, for now. When/if your stuff increases in popularity significantly, someone else may well create an article on your group. But creating it for yourself is not a good idea, especially if you just copy/paste stuff from your site. The issue here is not copyright violation, being that it is your text, of course, but it clearly violates the Neutral Point Of View policy (at best), and sounds drooling (at worst). Try reading it from a outsider's perspective.

I need to go out soon. When I get back, I will see what to do about the articles. I suppose it is worth mentioning that first movie of yours in the WOW section of the machinima article. But there are other firsts listed for other games, who do not have (or merit) articles on their production teams.
