Hi. Thanks for patrolling recent changes and keeping an eye out for inappropriate articles. :) As a fellow recent changes watcher, I think that's pretty important work. I just wanted to let you know with regards to the specific article DEVIL UNITED that the procedure for dealing with articles in languages other than English is a little more complicated. Rather than tagging them for speedy deletion, we put a {{notenglish|language}} tag on the article. If you don't know the language, just leave that part untouched. I almost always do. :) The user is notified with {{subst:UE|article}} and the article is listed at Wikipedia:Pages needing translation into English (steps for that are included in the notenglish template). If the article is not translated within two weeks, then it is deleted. Since you're doing the job, I figured I'd better point out procedure on this rare occurrence to you. And let me thank you for taking the time to notify users on their talk pages with the proper template. Some editors skip that step, and it is very helpful in explaining to original authors what happened to their pages. - I saw that at the bottom, too, and almost made a note on the translation page that it could be an inappropriate page. Not knowing the primary content, I thought to leave it to the translator to determine. There might have been good text above it. :) Anyway, somebody has come along who managed to identify language (it was tagalog) & subject matter (a minor football club), and it has been deleted on its merits. These kinds of things don't come up often. I've only run into it maybe five or six times. It's rare enough that I put the steps for handling it on my user subpage. :) --Moonriddengirl 13:49, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

- Hi again. :) You seem to know about the escalating warning labels for speedy deletion tags, since you placed them appropriately. After you've placed the 4th, you report the user to Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism just as you would any other vandal. Your speedy tag on this article only three minutes after its creation was not only absurd, but not even in line with WP:SPEEDY procedure. A history section and the addition of references was being prepped in that 3 minute interim that you so hastily decided the article was not worthy of existence. And the company being the largest employer in Trona and owner of the notable Trona Railway is an assertion of notability. Please become familiar with the following passage from the first section of WP:SPEEDY:

- Before nominating an article for speedy deletion, consider whether it could be improved or reduced to a stub; if so, speedy deletion is probably inappropriate. Contributors sometimes create articles over several edits, so try to avoid deleting a page too soon after its creation if it appears incomplete.

- I removed the speedy deletion tag. In general, I wouldn't suggest speedily deleting a corporate article unless it's blatant self-promotion, like something that looks obviously copied from the company's web site, or if it's something that really has no content. (For example, "The Cottage Restaurant in Bloomington, Minnesota is well-known for their friendly service, cute waitresses, and the Floorburger Special.") If you aren't sure if something is truly a speedy deletion case, take it to WP:PROD or WP:AFD where it can be reviewed. --Elkman (Elkspeak) 04:54, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
Being a little suspicious of your curious speedy deletion criteria and browsing your recent contribution history, I've removed the speedy tag to this article that you placed within one minute of the article's creation. Being a professional soccer/football player for a premier league is not only is an assertion of notability, but a primary qualifier under WP:BIO. As the "Athletes" section of WP:BIO states, "Competitors who have played in a fully professional league, or a competition of equivalent standing in a non-league sport such as swimming or tennis."--Oakshade 05:04, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
