[edit] Welcome!

Howdy and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contribution on the Immutability article. To add citations or sources, the best option is to use the formats at Wikipedia:Template messages/Sources of articles/Generic citations. More information about citation styles etc. is available at WP:CITE. Many thanks for your contribution, and feel free to write me a note on my talk page (just add a note to the bottom) if I can help with anything or if you have any questions. I have placed the boilerplate welcome message below this, since it has some useful links. --Hansnesse 03:34, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Immutability

Great work, and I'm happy to help. I went ahead and added the citation I think you were working on adding (certainly correct it if I made a mistake on it). One easy way of citing sources is to use a template. In the article, I used the book template:

{{Book reference | First = | Last = | Authorlink = | Coauthors = | Year = | Month = | Title = | Chapter = | Editor = | Others = | Edition = | Pages = | Publisher = | Location = | ID = | URL = }}

To cite something, just fill in the information you have and remove the remaining portions. Thus if you only have a title and author, it would be

{{Book reference | First=Author's first name | Last=Author's last name | Title=Book title}}.

Just fill in the italics parts with the information you have. When you view the page, the citation appears in the standard format. You may want to give it a try over at the sandbox. To cite things other than books (like magzine or journal articles) see the list of citation templates. Feel free to write me a note on my talk page if you have any questions. Again, great work! --Hansnesse 13:09, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
