[edit] License tagging for Image:E3-af1.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:E3-af1.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] .300 Whisper
I have two refs for the case length on the .300 Whisper. One says 1.40" and the other says 1.50". The first one is actually a link YOU added. Do you have a reference that says 1.35"?
On another note, the params MUST be only numbers. You cannot add "xx to xx". —Thernlund (Talk | Contribs) 22:50, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- Here is another reference giving the case length as 1.40". As there are now two, and one was your own addition, I'm shall change the param to 1.40". —Thernlund (Talk | Contribs) 23:04, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy delete
A tag has been placed on Patrick M. McDonald, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Thernlund (talk • contribs) 00:39, 2 March 2007 (UTC).
[edit] Image tagging for Image:PatrickMcDonald.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:PatrickMcDonald.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Duplicating articles
Please stop duplicating articles, as you did with EagleIII and Eagle 3 (from Eagle III) and 300 fireball (from .300 Whisper). Duplication only results in content inconsistency and redundancy. The correct way to go is to create redirects to the existing pages, using the notation explained here. CounterFX 22:42, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your edit to .300 Whisper
Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added to the page .300 Whisper do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. --Dirk Beetstra T C 16:03, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Eagle III.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Eagle III.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Strangerer (Talk) 16:17, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Duplicate images uploaded
Thanks for uploading Image:EagleIII 018.JPG. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:EagleIII.JPG. The copy called Image:EagleIII.JPG has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 14:34, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome your help to create new content, but your recent additions (such as Green Bay Police Department) are considered nonsense. Please refrain from creating nonsense articles. If you want to test things out, edit the sandbox instead. [edit] AfD nomination of N396JS
I've nominated N396JS, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that N396JS satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/N396JS and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of N396JS during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Philippe 21:34, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] N396JS
I read your comment on the talk page of this article. There is a difference between "important" and "notable". I'd like to suggest that you read Wikipedia's standards on notability to get some idea of the working definition of the word for this project. I'd agree that the aircraft is IMPORTANT - but not notable. However, Air Force 1 and Marine 1 ARE notable - because they fly the President of the United States. No one disputes that the work this aircraft does is important - only that it's not notable enough for inclusion in an encyclopedia. If you have any questions, please contact me on my talk page. By the way, if you sign your comments by putting four tildes (~~~~) after them, people will know who left them. Philippe | Talk 20:08, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with the above, but I wanted to drop a personal note to make sure you fully understood why this process was happening. The last thing we want is for a new editor to become discouraged. Yes, medevac helos are important, but in encyclopedic terms, very few are, in fact, I know of only one, Airworf. FWIW, I'm personally connected with a medevac helo (N401MA, see my talk page to see it) that has a lot more history than the three you've written articles on, but even it's not notable in the terms we use at Wikipedia. As an aside, though, I do want to thank you from a personal level - and on behalf of my colleagues, for the honor you've attempted to give to the machines we use and spend our lives maintaining. Sometimes, when you're up to your armpits in Jet A (as I was yesterday), it's nice to know that someone out there actually appreciates our efforts!
