[edit] Solo Music

My father bought me a classical acoustic guitar in summer of 2004 at a flea market for $40. I wrote my first songs shortly thereafter and made my first public performance in the fall at a small cafe in Lansing, Illinois at an open mic, playing two of my own songs and two covers by singer/songwriter Elliott Smith, a longtime favorite of mine. I've played open mics and a few gigs since then, recording several demos while continuing to write new songs. I plan to record my first album within a year, hopefully to be released by the summer of 2007

[edit] Statements Lost

I joined the punk band Statements Lost in April of 2003 to take the place of a former bassist. I have played bass live and in the studio from the band since then, including tracks on a self-released EP called Desperate Search, as well as an untitled LP currently being recorded.

[edit] Newspaper

As of March of 2006, I write for the Student Review, my college newspaper. The first issue, due out in early April, features two of my news articles and one essay, a one page condemnation of the President Bush's foreign policy. All of my written works are published under my pen name, Thomas Carson.
