Hello. I've been using Wikipedia for a very long time. I use it a lot; when I come across inaccuracies or spelling mistakes I correct them. I am currently watching some bittorrent-related articles. I improve wording and fix vandalism on them, mostly.

I'm glad to help with any Wikipedia-related stuff you need done. I can read German alright, though I can't really speak/write it without an English-German dictionary.

About me

I spend a lot of time on my computer, and I have absolutely no life. I have even less of a life then you, and that's saying something ;) . I am very experienced with windows, and I can troubleshoot most problems with it. Contact me(below) if you need help. I have a basic understanding of linux, and I use it occasionally. I don't think it's quite ready to replace Windows, though. Maybe reactos will eventually.

My computer is a high/mid-range PC. It plays all games OK, but it's not a supercomputer or anything. I triple-boot XP, Vista, and Ubuntu. XP is my main OS at the moment. Within the year I will switch to either Vista or Ubuntu, I haven't decided yet. I will keep the other two OSs installed, though.

I have AT&T broadband; the fastest in my area. I am very satisfied with them and I would recommend them to others. I know the speed is lower than the competition(though not in my area), but the service is reliable and they don't throttle any of my traffic.

I support the conflicting types of governments Anarcho-syndicalism, Socialism, and libertarianism. They all appeal to me, but none are perfect. I'm not sure which government system would be perfect, though certainly not the one used currently in any country of the world. In any case, I think a complete world government would solve many of today's problems.

Religiously I classify myself as agnostic. However, I have some stipulations:

  • I refuse to believe that there is absolute good and evil in the universe
  • I refuse to believe that there is a god as depicted in the Christian bible(if he existed, he would have to be very evil)
  • I refuse to believe anything that grossly contradicts science and reason

As far as I know there aren't any religions that match those criteria.

I made up the name "theymos" for an online roll-playing game. It's supposed to sound medieval, but it has no other meaning. In character, Lord Theymos Amastica(alternatively Ams or Aym) of Mavikor is a scholarly wizard who, above all, enjoys his wizardly work. Alignment of True Neutral, specialization in Earth(sometimes fire) magic, carries a magical staff. I've been using the name "theymos" everywhere since I thought it up; it sounds really good (to me, at least), and it's unique. Before I used the name theymos, I used "marqmam", which is related to my real life name, but I didn't do anything significant online during the time I used that name. Those are my only two major aliases; I do occasionally use others, but not to the same extent.

I use Azureus instead of uTorrent because I support open source software and I really like the UI and extra features Azureus offers. Even if Azureus was closed-source I would continue to use it.

I use spywareterminator, Avast, and snoopfree privacy shield, which I think is the best protection available for free. Antivir has too many false positives, and my own tests indicated AVG sucks. Spyware terminator's scans suck, but I absolutely love the realtime protection, it's very customizable. And snoopfree privacy shield is extremely reliable and effective.
