Brandon Ottey (born September, 1989) better known by his stage name The Dramatic is a Canadian actor and independent recording artist best known for his song The Cool, profound lyrical content, and his clever wordplay.

[edit] Early life
Brandon Ottey was born in Toronto, Ontario; but moved to the Scarborough area at age nine. There, he attended Cedarbrae Collegiate Institute for all four years of high school. in regards to his ethnicity, he is predominantly Jamaican, but also has Irish and Egyptian in his blood. Brandon first began song writing at age 12 under the name Young K, however his lack of immediate talent put him of and prompted him to lose faith in his abilities. It wasn’t until he met Lucifer in 2003, and graduated from high school in 2007 that he began to seriously pursue Hip hop songwriting.

The origin of his name comes from his stage acting and other stage-based talents, which he incorporates within his lyrics and performances.

Throughout high school, Brandon performed along side Lucifer, during various high school talent showcases, and a hype man and back-up vocalist. He later expanded his performing in 2006 as a hypeman, drummer, and beatboxer for a group called MBS-Mind.Body.Soul. He also participated in various musical productions such as Rent, Les Miserables, South Pacific, and Chicago (as Billy Flynn, his first lead role). By the end of high school, Brandon was well known for his on stage presence and talent, but decided to change his artistic focus and become a songwriter and recording/performing artist.

The Dramatic is presently working on his first mixtape. the project shall consist of many unique and rare instrumentals and features from fellow Graffiti Records artists Lucifer and Money, Gifty Singh, Christ365, and other artists. At present, some of the songs can be heard and downloaded from his Myspace page.

Dramatic has been quoted as saying there and many inspriration towards his music in and out of hip hop.
" I listen to a lot of lyricists for inspiration. Nas, Kanye, Lupe, and Common most of the time. But if I want to get real profound, I whip out the Miles Davis, Norah Jones, Teddy P., and even some Robin Thicke. The kind of music that forces you to think out loud."
