The detour is a non-commercial/non-profit community radio service (based out of Johnson City, TN) focused on the Appalachia region. The radio service features two stations, detour MUSIC and detour TALK. The detour is run solely on donations from listeners and staff.

The station broadcasts on a part 15 transmitter on 105.3 FM in Johnson City, TN. detour TALK is played during the day, and detour MUSIC is played during the evening over the transmitter. The FM station goes under the unofficial call letters "WETX." Both stations are also broadcast over the internet.

detour MUSIC is a free form radio station dedicated to taking away the boundaries that have been created in music. Radio hosts are encouraged to play any type of music that they desire. Live performances from independent musicians (originating from the Acoustic Coffeehouse in Johnson City, TN) are also featured several nights a week. The station is on the air 24/7, 365 days a year.

detour TALK focuses on progressive and independent talk programming. The station is on the air Monday through Friday from 9:00am until 12:00am eastern.

Both stations are affiliated and offer programming from the Pacifica Radio Network
