Benjamin Linus is the manipulative de facto leader of the Others. He arrives on the island as a child in the early 1970s with his Dharma-employed father Roger. Ben conspires with the island's original inhabitants and gasses the Dharma Initiative members approximately two decades later. Two days before the crash, Ben finds out that he has spinal cancer so he concocts a plan to capture Jack to operate on him, which is ultimately successful. In November, Ben is captured by the survivors and imprisoned and tortured in the Hatch, where he poses as "Henry Gale". A few weeks after his escape, Ben unsuccessfully attempts to stop Jack from contacting a nearby freighter operated by people with orders to apprehend Ben and kill everyone else on the island. Ben is recaptured by Jack and traded off to Locke a day later.

Desmond David Hume shipwrecks on the island and lives in the Hatch for three years, driven by the hope that he will eventually return to his long lost love Penny. Desmond moves in with the survivors and frequently interacts with Charlie, whose death he foresees and thwarts multiple times. After the freighter crew arrives on the island, Desmond reaches the freighter via its helicopter, where he successfully calls Penny.

In September 2001, fertility doctor Juliet agrees to join the Others for six months on the island; however, Ben does not allow her to leave the island and develops a crush on her. In December 2004, Juliet leaves the Others for the survivors, develops a romantic relationship with Jack and helps kill several of the Others.

He explodes there while handling dynamite on day 44.

Charlie kills Ethan on day 29.

A young Other, Karl is Alex's boyfriend. Worried that Karl would get Alex pregnant, which would kill her, Ben cages Karl on day 68 forces him to watch a brainwashing film repeatedly. Alex, Sawyer and Kate rescue him on day 73, and he goes with Kate and Sawyer by canoe back to the main island. Sawyer lets him go free once they return. He lives in the forest until Alex tells him to go warn the crash survivors of the Others' upcoming raid on their camp on day 92. He reunites with Alex on day 93 and they join the survivors' group. Keamy shoots Karl dead around a week later.

Dr. Richard Alpert is Ben's advisor who does not age. In the early 1970s, Richard—one of the original "Hostiles" (Others)—conspires with a young Ben to gas the Barracks and kill the Dharma Initiative, with the Others moving in. Richard works as a recruiter for a front company for the Others, called Mittelos Bioscience. Richard prefers not to take a position of power, but disputes several decisions by Ben. Richard leads the surviving Others to the temple after Ben is taken prisoner sometime after day 90.

Mikhail Bakunin has an eyepatch over his right eye. He is born in Kiev in present day Ukraine and serves for the Soviet Army. He is recruited by Jacob and lives in the Flame Dharma station until Locke blows it up on day 77. Mikhail explodes a hand grenade, which kills both himself and Charlie at the Looking Glass Dharma station.

Danny Pickett is a forceful and violent Other who supervises the construction of an airstrip on the island where the Hydra station is located. He is married to another Other named Colleen until her death on day 71. Enraged, Pickett takes all of his anger out on Sawyer, repeatedly beating him and threatening to kill him for days. He almost succeeds, but he is shot dead by Juliet on day 73
Goodwin Brett Cullen 2.07, 3.01, 3.16, 4.06
Goodwin is married to the island's therapist named Harper Stanhope. He has an affair with Juliet, which dismays Ben because he is in love with her. Partially out of jealously, Ben sends Goodwin on a mission to pretend that he is one of the tail section survivors. When Goodwin's identity is discovered by Ana Lucia Cortez, she confronts him and engages in a fight that results in his death.
Bea Klugh April Grace 2.22, 2.23, 3.11
Beatrice Klugh, who introduces herself as Ms. Klugh to Michael on day 54. She visits Michael during his forced stay with the Others and is present when they capture Jack, Kate and Sawyer. On day 79 at the Dharma Flame station, she is found by Sayid, Locke and Kate and demands her death from Mikhail in fluent Russian. Mikhail complies regretfully.
Jacob Unknown 3.20, 4.01
Jacob is the Others' highest authority. With the exception of Ben, the Others have never met or not seen Jacob in years. Jacob lives in a shack—that appears at various places—without electricity and is invisible to some. When Locke visits Jacob sometime after day 90, Locke cannot see him, but can hear him asking for help. Hurley encounters Jacob's shack the next day and sees what appears to be Christian inside.

Roger Linus is Ben's father and a Dharma work man (janitor). He blames his son for his wife Emily's death, which happened in childbirth. Ben finds himself unable to forgive his father for this and he kills him in the Purge. His corpse is happened upon by Hurley on day 75.

Annie is Ben best childhood friend.

Horace and Olivia Goodspeed are a couple who help Roger and Emily Linus after Emily goes into early labour. Around a decade later, Horace and Olivia get Roger a job with Dharma. Horace works at the Arrow, while Olivia is a school teacher until the pair are killed in the Purge.

Danielle Rousseau arrives on the island sixteen years before the crash of Flight 815 as part of a research party. She gives birth to Alex on the island after she had killed her team because they had gotten "sick". Alex is kidnapped soon after by the Others. Rousseau occaisonally helps the survivors, but has decided that she will remain on the island even if rescue is possible; thus, she joins Locke after possible rescue arrives. Rousseau is shot by Keamy in the days before 100.
Anthony Cooper Kevin Tighe 1.19, 2.03, 2.17, 3.13, 3.19
Anthony Cooper is one alias of the con man who is Locke's biological father. Cooper does not meet Locke until Locke is in his forties or fifties, when he cons him out of a kidney and pushes him out a window, causing Locke to fall eight stories and break his back. As Tom Sawyer, Cooper seduces Mary Ford and steals her money. Mary's husband kills her and himself in anger. Their son James–who later becomes a con man himself and takes the name Sawyer as an homage to the man who ruined his life–makes it his objective to find the original Sawyer, read him a letter that he wrote for him as a child and kill him. Sometime after the crash of 815, the Others stage a car accident, kidnap Cooper and imprison him to the island, although Cooper believes that he has gone to Hell. Ben reveals him to Locke on day 81 and Locke takes him to the Black Rock and introduces him to Sawyer, who finally succeeds in fulfilling his goal on day 91.

Naomi is recruited by Abaddon to lead a group of four to the island to retrieve Ben. Naomi parachutes onto the island around day 85. She tells the survivors that she is working for Penny and lives with them until sometime between days 90 and 95 when she is mortally wounded by a knife in the back from Locke. Before she dies, she phone Minkowski and informs him that she is in distress by coded message.

Frank Lapidus is an alcholic Oceanic pilot who is originally scheduled to—but does not—fly 815. Abaddon selects him as one of five to visit the island initially via freighter. Frank flies a helicopter from the freighter to the island between days 90 and 95. A day after arriving, Frank leaves for the freighter by helicopter with Sayid and Desmond. Two days after landing on the freighter, Frank and Keamy take off with the helicopter to run an errand.
Keamy Kevin Durand 4.05, 4.07, 4.08, 4.09, 4.10
Keamy is a crew member from Las Vegas, Nevada. Between days 95 and 100, he briefly leaves with Frank by helicopter to the island. He kills Karl, shoots Rousseau, takes Alex hostage and attacks the Barracks.

George Minkowski is the ship's communications officer and talks to Jack sometime between days 90 and 95. A day later, Minkowski's consciousness time travels beyond his control until he dies from a brain aneurysm and dies around day 95.

Regina fills in for Minkowski after he dies, answering calls from Daniel, Charlotte and Miles. Between days 95 and 100, she commits suicide by jumping off the boat into the water, due to what the captain describes as "a heightened case of cabin fever."

Christian Shephard works as the chief of surgery at St. Sebastian Hospital. He has a trying relationship with his son Jack, largely due to Christian's alcoholism and Jack's inability to forgive his father—even when his father enrolls in Alcholics Anonymous. Unbeknowst to Jack, Christian is also Claire's father, although he only meets her once after her childhood. Christian meets Sawyer and Ana Lucia shortly before his death in Australia. Christian's corpse is aboard 815 and an apparition of Christian appears on the island.

Penelope Widmore, who is sometimes called "Penny" or "Pen", is the love of Desmond's life. She searches for Desmond after he is shipwrecked, routinely calling the freighter and stationing two Portuguese men at a polar research station. She finally makes contact with Desmond around day 95.

Eight months before her wedding to her first fiancé Kevin, Sarah Shephard car crashes with Adam Rutherford (Shannon's father and Boone's stepfather). Despite a broken back, Jack miraculously fixed Sarah in surgery and two are later married. Jack becomes obsessed with his work, leading Sarah to have an affair and divorce Jack. After the Oceanic Six's rescue, Sarah is pregnant.

Jae Lee is the wealthy son of the owner of the Seoul Gateway Hotel and the hotel's general manager. He attends Harvard University and studies Medieval Russian Literature. Jae meets Sun on a family-arranged date, becomes her English teacher and has an affair with her after she weds Jin. Instead of telling Jin about it, Sun's father tells Jin that Jae is stealing from him and orders Jin to kill Jae. Jin beats up Jae, but tells him to leave the country and never return instead of killing him. Jae subsequently commits suicide by jumping from his apartment.
Yemi Adetokumboh M'Cormack and Olekan Obileye 2.10, 2.21, 3.05
Yemi is a Nigerian priest and works to improve the lives of his parishioners, getting vaccines for the village. Yemi dies trying to stop Eko and the men from leaving; he is shot by gunfire from the army as the plane with the heroin begins to take off. He later appears as a vision to Locke and Eko on day 64, and he leads them to the Pearl station. The "monster" also takes his form and kills Eko on day 72.

Despite being in love with her and dating her for several months, Sawyer cons Cassidy Phillips for her money. Pregnant with Sawyer's baby Clementine, she tries to con people using Sawyer's techniques in Iowa, where she meets Kate.

Susan Lloyd is Walt's mother and Michael's ex-girlfriend. A lawyer, she takes Walt with her against Michael's will from New York to Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She marries Brian Porter and they move to Australia, where she dies of a blood disorder in September 2004.
