Biography
Early Years (1997-2003)
The Skelters was originally formed in 1997 by Angel Charavitsidis and Daniel Charavitsidis and for the time they were called The Crickets. From 1997 to 2003 the band has gone through many line-up changes with its original members staying in the band. In 2001 they changed their name to “The Skelters” and they were mainly covering Beatles' and U2's songs. During that period they played live at their school but the most important live performance of the band was for a Greek TV music show called “Jammin” because they were the youngest band ever played there. In 2001 Stavros Amanatidis joined the band as guitar player. In 2002 Stavros had to play bass for the band because all the other members of the band decided to quit the band. So for almost a year The Skelters were Angel, Daniel and Stavros. During that period they had much success because they started to play as a powerful trio at local clubs in Thessaloniki.
2003 – Present
In 2003 “The Skelters” changed form for the last time. Thodoris Nikolaou is the new bass player of the band. Stavros has returned to his love for guitar. The Skelters started to compose their own songs but never had the chance to put them on an official album. In 2007 the band started to record the material for their debut album called “Explain To Me”. The album consists of 9 tracks influenced by all music styles such as blues, rock, rock n’ roll, hard rock and even disco. The band all these years gives live performances at many clubs in Greece.
