User:The Fish/Player (Command & Conquer)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In all but one of the Command & Conquer series of games, the Player always is, or assumes the role of, a military commander for one of the two playable (although this will change with the advent of C&C3 which will have three playable factions).

[edit] Tiberian Sun
The players in Tiberian sun both have well developed characters - they are shown in the movies in-game, and whoever wins is decided by what side the player chooses.
The GDI Commander is Michael McNeil. His brother, Jake McNeil, is also part of the story, yet he is mostly present in the Nod story. Jake is only mentioned before and after one GDI mission (especially when Kane says "Sorry to hear about your brother, McNeil, I heard he died a very slow... and... painful death.").
The Nod Commander is Anton Slavik. He is extremely loyal to the Brotherhood of Nod, and says "I live for Kane - and I would die for Kane. The difference is trivial."
[edit] Renegade
Captain Nick "Havoc" Parker is a GDI commando with a characteristically bad attitude. He is the primary character in Renegade. Before joining GDI, Parker was a US Marine who excelled in the use of high explosives. He was recruited by the GDI and cycled through special forces training before being assigned to GDI's elite "Dead-6" commando unit. Eventually, Havoc quit the unit and began operating solo, using his special forces training to fight Nod his own way. According to Mike Verdu's Tiberium Wars blog, "Havoc" is still alive in 2039, a retired war veteran holding the rank of colonel. He was opposed to the retirement of the Mammoth Mk. II and was a strong proponent of the "Kane lives" theory. Havoc is voiced by Wally Wingert.

[edit] Red Alert 2
The two commanders in RA2 are mutually exclusive. That is, only the "Commander" exists in the Allied story, and only "Comrade General" exists in the Soviet story.
The Allied Commander in RA2 is addressed simply as "Commander". He is assumed to look like whoever is playing the game at the time. Also, events in the story suggest that the Commander is male, but that is the only key to his character. Since the story only progresses with total victory on the Allies' part, the Commander would be a character who will win in any situation with the Allied Forces under his command.
The Soviet Commander, whose face is portrayed in the front cover of the Red Alert 2 packet, is portrayed in Second Person. He is refered to as "Comrade General". The player is not playing as theirself, but as Comrade General. Similar to the Commander, he would win any situation with the Soviet Forces under his command. Comrade General is shrouded in mystery, as he never says anything in briefings and has almost no set character. However, when he is in briefings, he is assumed to have the same expression as is shown on the RA2 CD pack. Anyone can make any story about Comrade General, as long as it follows the guidelines of his character:
- He is the perfect General of the Soviet Union.
- He always has a smug expression because no situation is too much for him.
- He has red eyes (his iris is red).
- His popularity is feared (as it says when a certain mission is accomplished).
- He is a slav and also a pure communist.
