The Okay Thrill is an American indie rock band formed in 2006 in Kansas City by singer/lyricist/guitarist Matt Shelton, singer,lyricist/guitarist Lucas (Luke) Walker, and drummer John Steinmetz [1]

The Okay Thrill regularly plays around the greater Kansas City area, and has played at venues such as The Record Bar, The Brick, The Studio Downtown, Davey's Uptown, and more.[2] Their upcoming album is expected to be released in 2008.

The Okay Thrill had been around for a short while with Matt Shelton, and Lucas (Luke) Walker, but was ultimately formed in 2006 with joining of drummer John Steinmetz. Since then, The Okay Thrill has played well-attended shows around the Kansas City area, at places such at The El Torreon, The Crave Cafe, and, more recently, The Mission Theatre, The Brick and Davey's Uptown and Ramblers Club. The Okay Thrill also has upcoming shows around the greater Kansas City area at venues such as The Record Bar on February 24, with the internationally touring band Dub Trio from Brooklyn, NY.[3] In late 2007, keyboardist Micah Walker joined the band and also co-wrote new songs with lead singer/guitarist Luke Walker. On January 4, 2008, the day before a big show at The Brick in Kansas City, The Okay Thrill picked up bassist Baron Stout who learned the groups set in mere hours and played a great show the next day. However, he left the band in March of 2008. [4]

The Okay Thrill has been mentioned by name in The Pitch, a newspaper dedicated to the greater Kansas City area, and other websites regarding upcoming shows, etc. The Okay Thrill is also featured in an episode of KC Anthem, a TV show which interviews musical talent and broadcasts all over the world directly from www.kcanthem.tv.
