[edit] theCelestrian

theCelestrian is a libertarian and self professed "t-shirt ninja of Crapulence." Any and all further inquires to his identity should be directed here. theCelestrian prefers his spelling as shown in the subject headers, and has the ability to refer to himself in the third person when need be. theCelestrian has a BA in Visual & Performing Arts with an emphasis in digital video production, is a web developer in php and regards himself as an artist, often using this as an excuse to be bombastic in the name of "art."

[edit] theCelestrian and Wikipedia

I do not pretend to me a major wikipedian. With that said, I do, however, try to make suggestions when I can or deem that they might be appropriate.

[edit] theCelestrian on Wikipedian Sociology

Perhaps one of the more interesting subject for me regarding this whole "project" is how it functions under the model of functionality by consensus. While Wikipedia staunchly attempts to deny that this not a practice in democracy, I wholeheartedly disagree. While this is indeed first and foremost an encyclopedia, the very fact that it runs on consensus, that there is mediation, arbitration and the ability for users to be banned indicates that there is no experiment, but Wikipedia is indeed a functioning Internet Democracy of sorts, which is made al the more important given Wikipedia's ever growing use and reputation.

This is one of the things I intend to explore more here. How mutual editors and the community in general relate to each other and their differences of opinions, particularly when it comes to the editorial portions of articles, most notably in "pro vs. con" or similar sections of articles.
