[edit] Gameplay

The Warrior's Code is a fairly traditional hack n' slash action role-player's game (RPG) which concentrates far more heavily on action-oriented combat than strategy or character development.

[edit] Introduction

Eighteen years have passed since a powerful and bloodthirsty warlord invaded the peaceful city of Koryn Thal. Today, the realm is one of chaos and oppression as the warlord-turned-emperor's strange and horrific minions continue to slaughter and enslave its people.

When members of a secret shapeshifter race, known as changelings, suddenly begin to disappear from the city streets, suspicions of an insidious plot to exterminate this ancient people lead many of its members to flee the city walls for survival. While struggling to evade capture and death in the war-ravaged kingdom, a small band of changeling refugees stumble upon a carefully guarded secret that rekindles the hope that freedom and people can be restored to the realm.

[edit] Transformations

New to The Warrior's Code is the idea of transformation, in which your character transforms into a beast form. This is accomplished by filling up an "essence" meter, which is much like the HP, Power, and Experience meters in the previous game. Essence is gained by defeating enemies, and when the meter is full, you may transform by holding down the L shoulder button and pressing the Triangle key. When you transform, your essence will slowly decrease, until it is entirely depleted and you return to your normal form. Different characters transform into different beasts. Here is a list of them.

  • Guardian: Beast
  • Mercenary: Fury
  • Disciple: Behemoth
  • Prowler: Dervish
  • Scout: Hellcat

[edit] WiFi

The Warrior's Code includes multiplayer functionality utilizing the PSP's built-in WiFi adapter. The game offers a number of PVP gameplay modes as well as a fully featured co-op gametype that allows you to team up with a friend to complete the game. Unlike its predecessor Brotherhood of The Blade, The Warrior's Code also offers you the ability to play online in infrastructure mode.

[edit] Character Classes

The Warrior's Code introduced five new character classes that are not found in the first Untold Legends game. They are:

  • Guardian
  • Mercenary
  • Disciple
  • Prowler
  • Scout

in addition, as player characters are changelings, each class has a corresponding changling form.

[edit] Multiplayer Games

Connection types

Multiplayer Adhoc For players who are all within close proximity of each other, such as in the same room. With this connection players' PSP systems talk directly to each other and no additional hardware is required. This is a great way for you and your buddy to adventure together.

Multiplayer Infracture For players who have access to a wireless internet hot spot. Players from all over the world can compete against one another in PVP.

Multiplayer Lan For players who have access to a local wireless network. The wireless network bridges the connection between the PSPs.
