Ultraman Tiga: The Final Odyssey (ウルトラマンティガ THE FINAL ODYSSEY Urutoraman Tiga Za Fainaru Odesei?) is a tokusatsu movie, and part of the Ultraman franchise, released in 2000. The movie is a direct sequel to the original Ultraman Tiga television series, serving as an epilogue to the events betweenTiga and the successor series, Ultraman Dyna. A TPC excursion (including GUTS' Captain Megumi Iruma) headed to an old ruins and unintentionally woke up three evil ancient giants whom Daigo, later on, has visions of. What's so haunting about his visions is that they're not only three but four evil giants, including Ultraman Tiga in a very dark physique and a very evil aura. After a series of visions, Daigo was able to meet the three evils who beat him up and left the Black Spark Lens to him. Later on, the ultimate battle begins in the ancient ruins. Daigo as Ultraman Tiga, who is supposed to be the warrior of light, must use his powers, however dark, in order to defeat the three evils.

[edit] Plot of Ultraman Tiga: The Final Odyssey
The captain of GUTS, Iruma (Mio Takagi), and a crew from TPC sail to an island where Ultraman Tiga fought his last battle. TPC believes that the island may have some link to Tiga and plans to find a way to create a replacement. Inside a cave in the island, they discover a strange wall. Iruma receives a vision and insists that the whatever is behind the wall be left untouched. Ultimately, she is shoved aside and the wall was blasted. Inside, the crew find three stone giants. The leader of the crew believes them to be Ultraman, but Iruma says in horror that these are the "Dark Giants".
Meanwhile, Daigo (Hiroshi Nagano) has a dream about marrying Rena (Takami Yoshimoto), only to be interrupted by a mysterious, black-clad woman, Kamilla (Aiko Tachibana), who attacks Daigo in the dream, causing him to wake up in terror. Trying to put the dream aside, he and Rena decide to go out and relax for the day.
Meanwhile, at the excavation site, Iruma finds that the true purpose of the Dark Giant's mission is to gain power. Grabbing the remote, she threatens to bomb the place. However the Dark Giants awaken and destroy the site. They unleash swarms bat-like monsters and kill the crew. When they are about to unleash their destruction to the world, a mysterious woman (the same woman seen in message capsule during the series, Yuzare) casts a pyramid of light which the dark warriors and their monster cannot break. The woman then vanishes as Iruma falls unconscious.
Daigo and Rena, return to GUTS HQ and meet their teammates. The team tells them that Iruma will return to see their wedding. Munakata (Akitoshi Ohtaki) and the other GUTS members then take the Artdessei to the island to find the captain. They find TPC's ship to be empty and Horii, runs into one of the monsters, which had taken on the form a TPC crew member.
After a trip to the aquarium, Daigo and Rena are enjoying themselves at a theme park until Daigo witnesses the bat-monsters attacking the city. Amidst the confusion, he is separated from Rena. Seeing the chaos, he realizes the monsters have not been fully exterminated. He can only watch as he can no longer transform into Tiga. Kamilla then, telepathically, speaks to him. She asks him if he wants power, as the Black Lens appears. Daigo uses the Black Lens, transforming into Tiga for a brief a moment before a flash of dark lightning reveals him turning into Tiga Dark. Just as he prepares to fight, Kamilla and the other Giants, Dahram (Massaru Matsuda) and Hyudora appear and speak to Tiga Dark. He hears a young girl begging for her unconscious mother, who is buried under a piece of rubble, to wake up. Kneeling down, he tries to help until the girl screams, causing him great pain. Unable to control himself, he crushes the girl. Daigo then awakens from this vision, frantically looking around, noticing that the same girl is still alive and with her mother. Panicked, Daigo then leaves Rena and his friends, and begins to search for answers to this mystery.
Daigo tries to find some information about Tiga's past and soon discovers a mysterious recording on the ancient capsule. It reveals that Tiga was an ally of the three Dark Giants and destroyed an ancient city which was populated by other Giant beings. Daigo is then confronted by Camearra, Darramb, and Hudra, who then offer the opportunity to reunite with them. He declines, and is then brutally beaten by Darramb, who leaves him to die. Rena then finds Daigo and quickly gets him medical attention at GUTS headquarters. Upon reawakening, Daigo decides to return to the island in order to defeat the Dark Giants once and for all, much to Rena's dismay. Rena meets up with Munakata, Horii (Yukio Masuda), Shinjoh (Shigeki Kagemaru) and Yazumi (Yoichi Furuya), boarding the Artdessei to follow Daigo to the island.
On the island, Daigo discovers the ruins of the ancient city of the Giants, and meets the woman he had seen in the capsule, and who had set up the light barrier earlier, who then discusses the history of the Giant civilization with him. Soon, Camearra arrives, forcing Daigo to become Tiga Dark, destroying the light barrier and spreading darkness across the earth. This leads to the Artdessei being attacked by the bat-monsters. Things look grim for the GUTS team until they are suddenly assisted by a group of fighters led by Gohsuke Hibiki (Ryô Kinomoto), who give the Artdessei a clear path to the island. Meanwhile, during his first fight with Darramb, Tiga Dark manages to absorb some of the Giant's energy, gaining red bands on his body as Tiga Tornado. After killing Dahram, Tiga Tornado confronts Hyudora, again absorbing energy and gaining the purple coloring of Multi-Type (while retaining a black face) as Tiga Blast, killing Hyudora in this form. Kamilla then faces off with Tiga Blast, slicing at him with a laser blade, severely wounding the hero. Rena soon flies in with a GUTSWing and begins firing at Kamilla in a moment of rage, though before she can be hit by Kamilla, Tiga Blast protects the ship, absorbing energy once again to revert to Tiga Multi-Type. Kamilla suddenly transforms into the monstrous creature known as Demonzour and attacks Tiga, throwing him to the ground and causing his ColorTimer to shut off. Suddenly, however, the spirits and energy of the ancient Giants empower Tiga, reviving him as Glitter Tiga, to destroy Kamilla and the entire island. As the island begins to collapse, Rena desperately searches for Daigo among the rubble, but is forced to retreat.
Daigo is revealed to be alive among the rubble, and finds a dying Kamilla, who then makes amends for her actions before her death. Later, at the same Church seen in the beginning of the film, Rena is seen mourning the apparent loss of Daigo, until he quickly arrives at the church. "I'm home..." Daigo quietly says, and Rena responds with "...Welcome back!", as the two embrace. A year later, the married couple prepare to go on a mission to establish a colony on Mars. Bidding farewell to their GUTS comrades, Daigo and Rena make their way towards the launch site. Along the way, a younger TPC member, Shin Asuka (Takeshi Tsuruno), notices Daigo and salutes him. Daigo returns the salute, and says to himself , "Good luck, Apprentice..."

[edit] Trivia
- In the movie, Tiga has three dark forms which mirror the powers and abilities of his three regular forms. Tiga Dark, Tiga Tornado (who uses the trademark Delacium Light Stream), and Tiga Blast(who uses the trademark Ranbalt Light Bomb) are "Dark" counterparts to Multi Type, Power Type, and Sky Type, respectively.
- Tiga voice was previously provided by seiyu Yuji Machi in the original series. However, in the movie, Tiga's voice was provided by Daigo's actor Hiroshi Nagano. It most likely to show that Tiga and Daigo is a single being, not separated.
- Aiko Tachibana, who plays the human form of Kamilla, plays Tsukiko Hoshino the hero's adoptive sister in Uchuu Keiji Gyaban.
