Thevaram is a panchayat town in Theni district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

As of 2001 India census[1], Thevaram had a population of 14,501. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Thevaram has an average literacy rate of 66%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 74%, and female literacy is 59%. In Thevaram, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Thevaram refers to a set of sacred hymns sung by the 3 saints Appar , Sundharar & Gnaana Sambandhar. These songs are in praise of Shiva , the hindu god representing Saivam. There are about 276 temples sung in the thevaram which are distributed all over india and about 96% of them are located in the state of tamizh nadu.
