Theodore John Packwood (July 3, 1809 – December 9, 1891) was the owner of Myrtle Grove, a sugar plantation in Louisiana. In 1843, the inventor Norbert Rillieux designed and installed a new sugar cane evaporator on Theodore Packwood's plantation. Rillieux's new evaporator greatly improved the quality of the sugar and reduced the cost to produce it. In 1846, Theodore Packwood and his business partner, Judah P. Benjamin, won first and second place respectively for the best quality sugar in Louisiana.
