Thenkurussi is a small village near Koduvayur in the Palakkad District of Kerala, south India.Thenkurussi is well known for its rich and varied heritage. Some famous temples in Thenkurussi are Siva Temple-near Ambalanada, Thayankavu Temple and Elamannam Sanakaranarayanan Temple. Thenkurussi is nearly 10 km from Palakkad Town. For every 10 minutes there is a bus to Nemmara through Thenkurussi. Nemmara is well known for "Nemmara Pooram".It is conducted in the April month. The main road to the Tourist centre Nelliampathy is through Thenkurussi. There will be nearly 50-60 km from Thenkurussy to Nelliampathy. Nelliampathy is hill station, known for its orange estates. The main Festivals in Thenkurussi Siva Temple are Ayyapanvilakku, Siva Rathri, Nava Rathri, Thiruvathira in Dhanu, Vishu,Uthradam & Thiruvonam. Sri Vishnu Embranthiri is the Melsanthi of this historical Temple. Experts says that this Temple has a history of several centuries. The Temple was built by Kozhikode Saamoothiris. However now the Temple was governed by Local Kshetra Committee. Sri.Narayanankutty was its Secretary & Sri, Prakasan as its President. Makaram-Revathy is the kalasam date of this Temple. The main Vazhipadu in this Temple are Rudrabhishekam, Kadina Payasam, Pal Payasam, Dhaara,Mrithyunjaya Homam, Ganapathy Homam, Pushpanjaly,Mrithyunjapam, Bhaagya Sooktham.....
