Thelma Holt

Thelma Holt is a retired actress, and producer for the Royal Shakespeare Company. She trained as an actress at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

In a partnership with Charles Marowitz, she co-founded the 'Open Space Theatre' in Tottenham Court Road, which began the London Fringe theatre scene.

The opening production of the NEW Open Space in 1976, on the site of an old arts nouveau post office opposite Euston Tower and built by mostly voluntary labour, was 'The Merchant', starring Vladek Sheybal.. The modern day adaptation of Shakespeare's classic.

This was the second incarnation of the Open Space.
