The city of Birmingham, MI possesses two movie theaters, the historic Birmingham 8 and the more recently constructed Palladium 12.

The Birmingham 8 is an eight screen movie theatre nestled in the heart of downtown Birmingham, Michigan. The Theatre, which was originally built as a one screen movie theatre in 1927, was rebuilt and restored in 1996 as a multiplex to show first-run motion pictures. The Birmingham Theatre has been recognized architecturally for its design and layout by the American Institute of Architecture. Additionally, The Birmingham Theatre features state-of-the-art amenities, including the highest quality projection equipment, stadium seating, high-back reclining seats, Dolby Digital sound systems and super-size screens.[1]

The Palladium 12 is a state-of-the-art entertainment facility. Among its many amenities, the Uptown Palladium 12 features the latest in state-of-the-art projection, Dolby Digital sound systems, exclusive high back seats with custom Tempur-Pedic cushions, a Premiere Entertainment auditorium - a Detroit area first - wall to wall curved screens, and stadium seating.[2]
