Theater J

Theater J performs in the Aaron & Cecile Goldman Theater at the Washington DC JCC. The Artistic Director is Ari Roth. [1]
It has been described by the New York Times as offering "professional polish, thoughtful dramaturgy and nervy experimentation," [2] and by [Hadassah] Magazine as " one of the most successful and avant-garde" of contemporary American Jewish theatres. [3]
Theater J is particularly known for its record of premiering important new drama. The New York Times called Theater J "The Premier Theater for Premieres." [4] Theater J has shown premieres by Richard Greenberg (Bal Masque,) Ariel Dorfman (Picasso’s Closet,) Joyce Carol Oates (The Tattooed Girl,) Jeanette L. Buck, and Wendy Wasserstein (Third.)
It is located in the historical Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC.
