The pumps

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Pumps rock band formed in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on the late 1970's. The original lineup included Chris Burke-Gaffney (vocals, bass), Lou Petrovich (lead guitar) and Terry ("TNT") Taylor (drums, back up vocals). Brent Diamond (keyboards) later joined the act. The Pumps released the debut album "Gotta Move" on Polygram Records in 1980--that featured FM radio hits "Success" and "Sail Away". The band supported the album with heavy touring. The band later became Orphan but failed to achieve the legendary status that The Pumps have established in the Manitoba music scene. Burke-Gaffney has gone on to be an acclaimed writer producer who's credits include Chantel Krevesiak.
