the midget, the speck and the molecule is the title of the latest album by rock band The Swirling Eddies, released in 2007 on Stunt Records.

If there were a common theme running through the album - from the artwork and packaging to the lyrical and musical content - it would be perspective. The album starts with "It All Depends," which sets up this theme by asking the listener questions like "is this a cubic zirconia or a pretty diamond ring?" before eventually answering with "I suppose it all depends, on how you look at these things."

The song Madonna Inn was inspired by the Inn of the same name. The lyrics make references to famous characteristics of the Inn itself including "The Caveman Room," printed sheets of Zebra Skin, rocks on the wall and a "urinal that looks just like a waterfall."

The autobiographical and tongue-in-cheek "Giants In The Land" likens the band to dinosaurs stuck in tar pits who were once "kings like elvis" with swivel hips. "A Medley of our Hit" pokes more fun at the band itself and the long delays leading up to the albums release.
