The Gourmet Society founded in 1993 as a not for profit evaluation arm of Hospitality Management Services,Inc. [1] (a Delaware Corp.). The Gourmet Society was the "6.0 version" of the company's Fine Beverage and Food Federation. Executive Director, Paul Ruffino assembled an Executive Board consisting of North America's finest Lodging as well as Food & Beverage professionals.
Thrice annually the board was charged with evaluating submissions from across the globe for product evaluation. Results as well as the panel's comments were available to the companies for marketing purposes. Clients included: Braun, Stash Tea [2], Henckles [3], Nabisco (food service), Nestle, Hansen Caviar, Viking, Torani and Perugina. The company also sponsored culinary competitions and bestowed honors on leading chefs in North America [4].
