The covenant of the pieces

The covenant of the pieces or covenant between the parts was a covenant made in the Old Testament between God and Abraham.
The story is related in Genesis (chapter 15), how Abraham was instructed to divide animals into two pieces. When between the halves, he had a vision of a covenant.
