The Bogeymen was a Garage rock/60's band from Angouleme created by lead singer guitarist Laurent Bauer. The line-up evolved a lot during the years around Laurent Bauer but Yves Le Diraison stayed the main bass player for most of the time. Their main influences were probably Swedish garage band The Creeps and the British medway psych act the Prisoners and a lot of 60's garage bands like The Remains, The Sonics, etc...
The first bogeymen's single "you are on my mind/candy" went out on F.F.Fascination records (fff 004) followed by "the bogeymen... as live as you want them" a live studio recording on guess who records and "you've got not scruples/let me give you my love/gimme a little sign" on detour records 2 albums were also published on dig!! records, " introducing The Bogeymen" and "Action time"
the band actually broke up in 1996 and Laurent Bauer went on to form "the lost minds" . they signed to detour records again for 2 singles, "now I'm alone/you cry" and "look yourself straight in the face/just a mask" and one album "express jerky motions", after braking up again, Laurent continued with Superphonic, Moon Fargo and Venus Paradise in a different music path, going from white soul to electro pop but not much stuff surfaced.
