The Zoo is a Filipino rock band formed in 2006[1] in Manila, Philippines, managed by TV producer and manager, Bert de Leon. The Zoo launched the international career of Arnel Pineda, their former lead singer, who is now the lead singer of Journey[2]. Journey's guitarist and founding member, Neal Schon stumbled onto YouTube videos of Pineda singing live with The Zoo, and contacted Noel Gomez, Pineda's friend, who uploaded the videos[3].

The Zoo released their debut album "Zoology" in late 2007 while establishing themselves as a dependable live act in clubs such as Bagaberde and the Hard Rock Café in the Philippines[4].

In January 2008, following the departure of Pineda to Journey, The Zoo recruited Reujen Lista to take over the lead vocalist slot.
