[edit] History
In 1969, Epic Records released Donovan's Greatest Hits to compile Donovan's late 1960's hits in one collection. For fans who wanted to delve a little more into Donovan's catalog without getting each of the albums, Epic released a two LP compilation titled The World of Donovan in 1972. "Celia of the Seals" and "Song of the Wandering Aengus" had been released as a single the year before. Since H.M.S. Donovan was not released in the United States, The World of Donovan marked the first album release of the songs in the United States.
